Hi Mike, back looking at your super Mute Swan again. How come all my birds are flying away from me. Must be doing something wrong! I did tone down the tree in the lower left a little. I thought it was a slight distraction. Very nice catch Mike. |

Hi Ron, I am far from the last word but as far as I know a bird can be in a zoo, in the wild, with man made objects in the frame, staged or stuffed. As long as it is a bird. When I compete especially in PSA, state and local clubs, most do not allow the hand of man anywhere in the frame. |

Michael, been competing for over forty years and catchlights need to be in the pupils of birds, etcetera. Have seen many great images such as yours knocked down for this reason. |

Ron, I like it and I thought very clever to do this, this time of the year. Great use of colors and silhouettes! Super! 🎒Happy Halloween🎒 |

Super image Mike. Caught at the peak of action. Your mute swan has very good tonality and nice detail especially when you are shooting a white bird. Wish the tree in the lower left was darker but sometimes with wildlife it is what it is. Well done. |

Michael, both your image and Leslie's Burrowing Owls are outstanding and would do well in any competition. Your shooting at this perch angle gives a super leading line directly to the owl. Only one very small thing that needs attention. If you have a catch light in one eye you definitely need two. I cloned the right eye into the left for balance. Would really like to see the habitat you built. Other than the catch light this image is excellent Michael. |

Leslie, agree with Michael on both counts. Super non-distracting background and the owl is tack sharp. Like the square crop format. Can't find any faults with this image. Excellent Leslie. |

Leslie, I absolutely agree with you. Dull and flat! I did change the contrast and gave it a little more brightness yet trying not to give the egret hot spots. What do you think? |

Marge, I love this! I like yours and Arts interpretation. I think you are using a slow shutter speed and a quick zoom? My wife and I go out on occasion and shoot this way and you really never know what you are going to get! Fun! Mostly abstract but sometimes a gorgeous image like yours. |

Lisa, did you actually see this GBH get this giant fish down? How could his gullet stretch to handle such a monster? How could he fly? Must have taken him a week to digest! Great catch and I love the water trails. I think the body coloring is slightly better on original 2. Super! |

Paul, thank you for your comment. Have to agree with you the this is the a real oddball. One club I am in you are allowed to enter 4 images if one required image is used other wise just 3. I shot this eagle image and didn't even know a mosquito was there. I figured I would give it a try. Look at the comments. Some love it and some hate it! Go figure? |

Don, I agree with your comments totally! I was just looking for something different other than a boring no impact insect shot. You never know what a judge will do. Love it or hate it, we shall see? |

Lloyd, this all makes sense now. Like your pano a lot. The slight brown tone and border certainly add. Are the rock structures natural or man made? |

Don, this is an outstanding image anyway you look at it! I think the lights are the flashing lights of a moving plane but I like the UFO option better. |

Lloyd, you caught this bird at the peak of action. This bird looks very much like a very illusive bird in south east US called the Kingfisher. Not sure why you would convert to monochrome then back to color nor why you would shoot a pano? Looks very much like you were panning. Very nice fast action image. |

Bev, we must travel in the same circles!!! I talked to this gentleman in depth when El Galeon de Andalucia sailed into Key West. The Galeon was just amazing. Love your image and you caught his expression showing he loves what he does. Wouldn't change anything. Very nice Bev. |

Paul, excellent image of a tiny very illusive hard to get spider. Surrounding areas compliment the subject and you have good sharpness in critical areas. Well done. |

Donald, super monochrome image. Some may say the light in the lighthouse is too hot but it is a lighthouse light! It is perfectly cropped and I think a very strong composition. Only minor minor thing I would get rid of is there are seven dots or flairs in a straight line directly left of second dark ring from the top. Excellent Don. |

Jamie, love this image! Very interesting!! The bridge is a great lead into the mill and then onto the falls. There are some busy items and people but to me that is all part of the story and makes it interesting. The lighting accentuates the image and the sky is very nice. Your image has visual impact and I wouldn't change a thing. |

Michele, very unusual structure and monochrome really makes it pop. Could almost be a pen and ink drawing with clouds added. Curious if the structure is roof top seating to watch sailboat races, solar panels or just a roof? Like it! Have to agree that the skater adds. |

Mike, very interesting image. Wish there was a little more space at the bottom. I like both images. Your image is probably more realistic but Michele's with the added contrast looks richer. It has good tonality and no distracting elements. Nice earth tones. Well done. |

Excellent image Nigel. The first time I saw your image , I thought that I had been there. Here in the states we have a similar rock but nowhere near as picturesque as yours. High above Harpers Ferry, West Virginia is a rock where one of forefathers used to go to contemplate. It is called Jefferson Rock. Not my image shown.
I like Micheles crop but you had a super image to start with. Nice balance between the rock and the tree on the left. You have a perfect exposure and your image has great impact and interest. Well done Nigel. |

Hi Cindy, very nice selectively focussed Grackle. Title is right on. Looks like he was in a fight and lost! Crooked beak, twisted leg and ruffled feathers all super. I thought the background was a little bright but that's all I would think about changing. Been meaning to tell you that your article Discover Antartica and images in the June PSA Journal was outstanding! Wow! A photographer and a writer! Extremely well done. |

My similar image was taken NW of Jupiter, Florida. Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland Florida. We live in Key West for six month in the winter and six months in Gainesville FL in the summer. (Too hot and humid so we travel). Super image Marge. |
