15 Sep 23 Comment Issac, absolutely a gorgeous image. Selective focus is slim but perfect in front and behind the Roadrunner. The color behind the birds eye is beautiful. Your image displays peak of action and is perfectly cropped. Wish the upper portion of the tail was slightly more in focus but such is life with bird photography. Excellent!! Sep 7th

21 Sep 23 Reply Looking forward to seeing it Marge. Sep 22nd
21 Sep 23 Reply Marge, I too was afraid the Great Blue was not going to make it. The snake was very persistent and the struggle went on and on. Circle B Bar Reserve is an amazing place to shoot. Much is swamp and loaded with gators. You have to be careful. During mating season they don't allow you on certain paths where there is gator activity. Glad the Great Blue made it. I think they are pretty tough birds. Thank you for your comments. Sep 22nd
21 Sep 23 Reply Mike, this is a great shot also. Love the water, eye and reflection. Sep 15th
21 Sep 23 Reply Thank you Cindy, originally I just had the neck but it didn't feel right so I included a small part of the body. Thank you for your comment. Sep 15th
21 Sep 23 Comment Don, the Falcon is tack sharp and the good tonality. The only distracting element in the frame is the background. Hope you don't mind that I added one. Good or bad? Very nice image. Sep 9th
21 Sep 23 Reply Thanks Mike, I was able to shoot about 80 images during this battle and really wasn't sure the Great Blue would win out. Sep 9th
21 Sep 23 Comment Very good image Ron. Removed the blue cast that the egret had for some reason. Possibly white balance? What do you think Ron? Sep 8th
21 Sep 23 Reply This was actually quite a battle with the snake wrapped around the Great Blue and constantly biting it. The Great Blue did win out and the snake was breakfast but it took over 15 minutes. Sep 6th
21 Sep 23 Reply Thanks Michael, I was very lucky to be standing 25 feet away. Sep 6th
21 Sep 23 Comment Gabriele, the Great Blue is excellent but the background is not. I cut the bird out and darkened the background and I think the Great Blue now pops. Very nice image. Sep 5th
21 Sep 23 Comment Ron, very nice job on a Great Egret. Having detail on a white bird is no easy task but you have accomplished it. The background bokeh is perfect. Super! Sep 5th
21 Sep 23 Comment Leslie, this is a very strong composition. Like the flower being sharp and stem/buds being soft. Body of the Hummer is sharp but the wings are not. Very hard no matter what speed you shoot at. A friend of mine does amazing hummingbirds and he uses three to five syncronized flashes because the strobe are so fast. Still a very nice high key image. Sep 5th
21 Sep 23 Comment Michael, this is a super image. If he was facing you, you would miss out on the magnificent feathers. The branch as a leading line is excellent. Exposure of the Toucan is super sharp and and slightly off center looking into the image couldn't be any better. The branch is probably the best branch I have ever seen. The bokeh background is perfect. Well done. Sep 4th
21 Sep 23 Reply Jim, thank you for your comments. On a rare occasion I luck out. Sep 4th

46 Sep 23 Comment Marilyn, excellent image! Your lighting adjustments certainly accentuates the story. Wouldn't change a thing. Sep 13th
46 Sep 23 Comment Xiao, normally I would say the bird is not cropped close enough but in this case I think it is perfect. You have the leading line of the stem / perch, the perfectly positioned bird with great eyes and the beautiful growth at the end of the branch. Wouldn't change a thing. Sep 13th
46 Sep 23 Comment Sylvia, very nice image of an egret family. Love the sharpness of the image. Wish you could see the eyes a little better but I know sometimes it is tough with bird photography. The adult is somewhat hot and lacks detail on its back and head but still a well executed image. Sep 13th
46 Sep 23 Comment Jack, great shot and super sharp. To get open eyes on each owlet is a major plus. Perfect crop and no distracting background. Very well done. Sep 13th
46 Sep 23 Comment Maria, your image was caught right at the peak of action. At first I thought you had a filthy Len or sensor but reread your write-up and realized it was water from the osprey. Super! Wish you could see his eye but understandable from his contortions. Great catch! Sep 13th
46 Sep 23 Comment Lisa, love this high key image. The slight turn of the head made it so you could see the eye and bill. Tack sharp and true art! Sep 13th
46 Sep 23 Comment Richard, your Ibis is terrific! Your selective focus is super. Might crop just slightly closer since he is so sharp. Well done. Sep 13th

48 Sep 23 Reply Marge, take a look at DDG-44 Oct of 22. Another Driftwood Beach. This was real! Sep 24th
48 Sep 23 Comment Thank you for your comments Marge. This was taken before Hurricane Irma and Driftwood Beach had hundreds and hundreds of this downed trees for about a mile. The storm really tore it apart but it is still beautiful. My wife and I scoped out where we wanted to shoot the day before, then we got up at 5am and got there in the dark and felt lost. Very surreal! Lot of great images though. Sep 22nd
48 Sep 23 Comment Thanks Bev, That's why DDG is so good. People see things others (Me) miss. Sep 15th
48 Sep 23 Comment Bev, this image brought back many great memories. We have been fortunate enough to spend many weeks in Havana and the surrounding areas. These ladies dress to the nines were alway in certain areas especially Plaza De La Catedral. Several times I did get them for $ to light up their cegars and blow smoke. Same lady! Love it. Sep 9th
48 Sep 23 Comment Paul, this is a very interesting image. It really makes you look at each bottle and figurine. Like Lloyd said, I wish you had tried a polarizer to try and make the glass disappear. Works sometimes and other times not. Sep 9th
48 Sep 23 Comment Lloyd , this is a perfect lightning image. I like the foreground and the sky is absolutely realistic. This image has true visual impact and certainly accentuates the story. Sep 9th
48 Sep 23 Comment Don and Lloyd, what do you think of this? Removed some of the lower beach area while still trying not to cut the image in half with the horizon. Sep 9th
48 Sep 23 Comment Hi Jamie, I hope you are still talking to me after my comments and edit on Simply Daisies. The stem really really bothered me so I removed it. The Daisies are beautiful and sharp but the stem just took over the image. Your layout is super and being a low key image is excellent! Sep 2nd
48 Sep 23 Comment Donald, this is outstanding! Love the layout of the subject and your choice of low key. Being dead center is perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. Sep 2nd

71 Sep 23 Comment Congratulations on being selected for the Member Showcase for Ted. Beautiful work! Sep 17th
71 Sep 23 Comment I have a feeling that the five trees on the left are real and the ones on the right are shadows. Image has good visual impact and interest. Nicely done Ted. Sep 7th
71 Sep 23 Reply Very interesting! Would love to explore if it was allowed. Imagine the history. Sep 6th
71 Sep 23 Reply Thank you Michele, shooting this image well after sunset (almost dark) was a challenge. Long, long exposure times! I also feel its is painterly or even grunge but is is unusual. Sep 4th
71 Sep 23 Comment Mike, please don't shoot me but I really felt this image was very flat and had no center of interest so I added an Angora Goat. Still friends I hope? Sep 4th
71 Sep 23 Comment John, love this image! Perfectly exposed! I like the darker trees and of course the falls are awesome but what I feel really makes it is the mist, spray or clouds in the middle. Beautiful John. Sep 4th
71 Sep 23 Comment Beautiful image Michele. Went on Google Earth and found very close to where I think you shot this image. Yours is rich in color and the one one google earth is parched and dry, possibly a different time of the year. Your image has perfect tonality and the lighting definitely accentuates the mood of wine country. Would love to know what the tower is on high ground. Sep 4th
71 Sep 23 Comment Theresa, Like Michele said, the crack is a nice leading line but that beautiful tree which I consider the primary subject needs to pop. I tried putting it into several HDR programs and didn't like any of them. Worked on in photoshop to no avail. Finally I over sharpened the tree and it helps a little. Mountains and sky are super. Sep 4th
71 Sep 23 Comment Nigel, this is an absolutely beautiful image. Do agree with Mike about the car and I toned down the green house in back a tad. Tried to find it on google earth but could not. The leading lines of the shrubbery and walk-way lead your eye right to the cottage. Would love to see it in person. Looks as though the hill goes straight up. I think your exposure and perspective were perfect. Sep 2nd

91 Sep 23 Comment Adrian, you definitely caught this Tern in the peak of action. Love it! It has no distracting element within the frame and certainly shows action. Like Jerry, Bruce and Cindy, I felt it needed a little space to the left. Beautiful! Sep 16th
91 Sep 23 Comment Hi Marge, We love the Alligator Farm also and have probably unknowingly crossed paths with you and many photographers in the DD Groups. Very nice image and it sure tells a story. Thought a vertical with a little more height might add and brought out a little detail in the right neck. What do you think? Sep 16th
91 Sep 23 Comment Hi Cindy, love your second version. So much detail, great eye and the leading line perch makes it. Well done. Sep 16th
91 Sep 23 Comment Hi Steve, still not a bad shot. I have taken thousands of hummingbird images and have somewhat given up. A fiend of mine in Key West specializes in hummers. He uses a controlled enviornment setup to attract them and as many as five flashes / strobes synced together. He can stop the wing speed every time. As good as modern day cameras are I don't think they can. Sep 16th
91 Sep 23 Comment Sanat, probably would have liked your image even more without the brown duck. Like Bruce's crop. Like the position of the stork as it portrays the story of looking for food. Great eyes! Well done. Sep 13th
91 Sep 23 Comment Bruce, perfect catch of this Snow Goose at the precise moment of an abrupt stop or landing. Nice tonality and detail of always hard to get white birds. Sharpness in critical areas. Well done. Sep 13th
91 Sep 23 Comment Jerry, absolutely stunning. Love the low key! Wouldn't change a thing. Sep 13th

97 Sep 23 Comment Kathy, great catch of in my book a very unique Ibis. Ours here is Florida are all white and we have just too many of them. Your image is very sharp and crisp so I tried a crop. What do you think? Beautiful bird and great image! Sep 19th
97 Sep 23 Comment Kathleen, this is a unique stunning image! As others has mentioned, I wish there was more detail in the head, neck and tail. I like what Roy did with the hot spots on the eagle but darkening does not get detail. Your background rock cliff is amazing. Sep 19th
97 Sep 23 Reply Sylvia, thank you so much for the reply and the Jelly feeder picture. We live in Florida and I read that Orioles are here in the winter so I will definitely give it a try. Sep 19th
97 Sep 23 Comment Excellent Bard Owl Julia. Very good non distracting background and your owl is exposed perfectly and super sharp. Liked what Roy did to it and possibly took it a step further by darkening the background. I feel it made the owl pop. What do you think? Sep 18th
97 Sep 23 Comment Very nice image Sylvia. Tack sharp and really like the turn of the head and catch light. Like Roy's crop and might even make a nice vertical. Grape jelly? Does it really attract them? Sep 18th
97 Sep 23 Comment Absolutely a gorgeous image. The two Gannets really pop agains the blue ocean. Taken at the peak of action and the lighting certainly accentuates the story. A quick story. My wife and I were on a Cruise in the Southern Carribean in the middle of the ocean and I was itching to do some photography. I put on a telephoto and walked as far forward on the ship as I could get and was amazed. Off the bow of the ship there were boobys and gannets flying high then diving for flying fish being disturbed by the bow wave. Shot over a hundred images. Sep 18th
97 Sep 23 Comment Jim, you certainly caught this Flicker at the peak of alertness. I think the grass and background is outstanding being out of focus because it draws you to the bird and nothing else. Exposure is perfect. I like irregular catch lights. Photographers that put a dot in the eye just looks too fake. Super image Jim! Sep 4th
