Love the Alligator Farm and Merit Island Isaac. We also go to the Everglades quite ofter but ever sense Hurricane Irma the glades have been slim pickings for some reason. Take care. |

Sarita, I think this is a gorgeous image and a real catch. Love the detail, sharpness and pose. When eyes are so important to wildlife I took the liberties to enhance the eye on this great blue. Also toned down the top of the neck and the water streaks slightly. This is a super image even with no edits. Well done. |

Randall, I love this image!! It could be an inspirational poster. It is a very strong composition and I like the seagull being small. At first I thought the gull was flying over a tall forest than I read your and it all made sense. Would not recommend any changes. Great eye Randall! |

Mike, I have to say I compliment your eye for an image I think is very unusual. The sky doesn't bother me at all. We winter in Key West and we see sunsets that most would not believe exist and normally it is minutes after the sun drops below the horizon. I wish the whole image was a tad sharper. I think the lighting accentuates the mood. I do like Isaacs crop but your original is so unusual. |

Jim, this is a beautiful image of a cormorant. My draw to this image are the feathers on the left wing and the head. beautiful!! The water doesn't bother me. I love the portrayal of sheer power and strength of this bird. It has great visual impact and interest. |

Isaac, This is a flawless image of a white egret. As we all know white is tough not to over expose. I prefer your primary image. It fills the frame, there are no distracting elements and it tells a good story. It is strong composition and should do very well in any nature competition. I think you are a Floridian and probably have visited the Alligator Farm Rookery in Saint Augustine. I usually spent many hours there shooting inflight birds hoping to get a few good ones. It is very hectic as the birds are sometimes coming at you like bullets. |

Thank you for the comment Bruce. We have had the hottest summer in history here in Florida and I would give anything for to be in Washington State in the mountains or along the coast. One day last week the heat factor was 119 degrees. Love the winters here but you can have the summers! My wife is an avid photographer also and the heat has really cut into our traveling and shooting. Hope to see you at the Alligator Farm or Fort DeSoto in the future. |

Good morning Isaac, Don and Leslie. The lighter reddish egret does not look realistic. This image was shot at 7:45am and he was soaking wet from fishing and diving (Very dark). The original at the top is probably the most true to color. Checked out about 40 other images of this bird shot at the same time and they were all dark. Fort DeSoto is an amazing place. Migration times are the best but there is a variety that I think live there year round. We have never been disappointed! Isaac, you are right these reddish egrets really put on a show and they don't seem afraid of man at all. |

Michael, This is a amazing image of a Cooper's hawk! I got the feeling that you had too long a lens when you got the shot. Clarity, detail and sharpness is outstanding. Hope you don't mind that I took the liberty to edit it a little. First one I added tail feathers and the second a portrait. Great catch!!! |

Gabriele, I love this image!! Do have to agree with Ron that it looks like Singh-Ray Blue/Gold filter and if it was it was perfect. Like Leslie said the area under the wing is very blown out so I did some cloning. This is a great catch and the lighting certainly accentuates the story. |

Ron, these radish egrets seem to be at the north end of fort DeSoto, back in a small pond. In the evening they are dancing and wing covering the water trying to get their meal. I try and not change much with birds due to PSA rules but lighten, darkening or cropping is ok. Thanks for your comments Ron. |

Beautiful image Xiao. The alert position, extreme feather detail and catchlight in the eye are outstanding. Do like what Marie did with the vegetation at the bottom. Also like the rounded branch that brings you right into the bird. I think what you did with the background really accentuates the bird. |

Richard, Gorgeous image! Tack sharp and framed perfectly. Like Jack Twigg's said, I too have never heard of a yellow cardinal. We live in Gainesville and have shot the nature area on the campus of the University of Florida many times and never have seen one. We will be going over this week! Beautiful background also. Well done. |

Maria, love the angle and effort that you put into this image. Image is very sharp and does portray a good story. Wish you could see the eye. Unfortunately the red is very distracting and pulls your eye to it. Used PS and a crop to make it possibly a stronger image? |

Jack, I will probably be on the couch tonight going against what my wife said above. You have a super image with the chick and the big fish but the skimmer has to have a tail. Some clubs allow nature editing and I know the PSA only allows a crop and brightening or darkening. I hope you don't mind but I gave the skimmer a tail and a little more beach above and below. Were you at DeSoto? Still your original is an excellent image! |

Bev, I really like what you have done with this image. The background was very distracting and busy and by blurring it turned it into a nice soft background. It also looks like you did a layer transformation of the rider and ground to b&w. Very nice work and a good story. |

Mary, this is an excellent human interest image. I can just hear the girl saying "What the heck" as she looks over her shoulder with a kid upside down and a surf board flying bye her. Bev's vibrance increase definitely helped this image. Like it a lot! |

Don, this really pops. I like the selective focus that draws you down into the glass vase. There are no distracting elements in the frame and I normally offset the center of interest but in this case it works. The lighting accentuates the flower. Very nice creative work. |

Ted, I tried to neutralize the hot spots in the sky somewhat. Not sure I like it. I sampled in PS one of the lighter sky area colors, then did a paint dump in all the hot areas. The used the blur tool to smooth out a little. What do you think? Too fake? |

Ted, having seen this view from Fort DeSoto island many times, it is one of my favorites. I know with filtration it is still tough to get rid of the blown out areas. I have and use Lee filters at times but it does take preplanning and sometimes you may just miss the shot. Love my B&W filters. Nothing like quality glass. Like this shot a lot and to me being a fellow Floridian you can feel our summer heat. |

The lighting accentuates the mood in this gorgeous image Michele. I have been to this location many times being raised in New Jersey and loving photography. Many of the old piers and pilings in Brooklyn are disappearing and being turned into parks. The second sunburst on that other skyscraper is very unusual. Brings back a lot of good memories. Love the South Street Seaport area also. |
