Lisa, you hit the nail on the head. This image was taken with an old DSLR and a very early Photomatix. Thank you for commenting. |

Everyone is right about the fake rainbow. In this competition we have a huge latitude in the Assigned catagory from totally creative fake to realistic but it still comes down to the judge. Love it or hate it. Here are a few more. |

Mary, any time you can get a bird doing something especially having a fish in it beak is super! I think what Bev did was going in the right direction. The background is still blown out. I went even further and I hope not too far. I may have over sharpened the heron. I think I like your heron and my background. |

I like Bev adjustments a lot. I went a step further and sharpened the lower third which I felt was slightly out of focus or soft. Nice image Margaret. |

Lloyd, I have found that Kingfishers are one of the toughest most elusive birds to shoot. They tend to stay well away from man. To catch one in action is near impossible so needless to say I think a lot of this image. Great catch!!! |

Jamie, another great image! The face is amazing and they way the body is positioned is very nice but he sure is looking at you. Because he is static you probably could have brought your ISO and speed way down and your f stop up. Very well done. |

Great character shot Bev. I too have talked to this gentleman. El Galeon de Andalusia came into Key West several Years ago. Amazing! I cropped your image and darkened the background to make him stand out a little better. Nice image! |
