Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
71 Aug 24 Comment Lots of layers in this image from front to back and very well executed. The brilliant whites offset the dark tones really well. There are many greys in this image which makes it work so well in the darker areas. Well taken Srijan.

71 Aug 24 Comment Thanks for the edit Michele. It was a great cruise thank you, highly recommended. I shall take the fence removal and reduction of the sky into my edit thank you. Also I agree about the magenta but I'll try to make something inbetween yours and mine - I would like some of the magenta tone in the colour of the sand, even if it isn't strictly accurate. Thank you. Just for interest here is a small jpeg from the unedited RAW file for comparison Aug 6th
71 Aug 24 Comment Having seen Michele's edit I agree that this works much better. I think I was more interested in the storyline that the lone butterfly was coming in to land and therefore neccesary - when in fact it isn't. Good edit Michele. Aug 6th
71 Aug 24 Comment I think this is a great landscape John. The whites in the snow are spot on for me. It's sometimes a temptation to dial them back in case someone says they're blown. Some tree clumps you see like this can look quite dark and muddy but you've got the tonality just right and I think the crop works really well. Aug 2nd
71 Aug 24 Comment Well caught Mike. I spent some time yesterday afternoon trying to do the same with butterflies and bees on my lavender bushes.
I like the composition on this and the storyline that the next butterfly is about to land. I think the square crop suits it as well. The thing I might do is to add some vibrance to the butterfly wings to make them stand out a little more.

71 Aug 24 Comment I like the crop on this - much better suited to this shape. I also like the 4:3 crop - I think it anchors images a lot better than 3:2. I also like this ratio and muct confess that I don't use it enough. The change in tonality in the sky suits very well. Long exposure on water is a matter of personal taste and in this case it contrasts nicely against the textures in the rock face. I would have liked a little more rock above the top of the tree but I think it's a very pleasing image Michele. Aug 2nd
71 Aug 24 Comment I like the composition on this and I think you've captured the scene well. It is slightly off - I used guided corrections in Camera Raw and it transforms slightly forward and to the right - only a degree or so but it made a lot of visual sense. I adjusted the black point a little which gave a better result than increasing the exposure. Not much of a change but it has an effect. Aug 2nd
