Brilliant - there's atmospheric and then there's ATMOSPHERIC. Lovely capture John. |

As the guys have already commented on, the image is very flat and I'm struggling to find a focal point. As you are drawn to images with layers and textures, what about lightening the lighter areas and darkening the darks and changing the blend mode. Pretty much the same as Michele. I'm also not sure the water belongs there but it's probably not deep enough to add a ship as well as a goat. |

This is a striking view but for me, it looks a lot more dramatic in mono. I used calculations and found this gave me quite a powerful version using the green channels. |

Lovely part of the world Michele. The clouds with the purple/grey toning in look very menacing. I think I would have lost the treetops in the foreground, they don't add much to the image, but the 16:9 crop suits the subject matter very well. I like the way the light shines off the land directly below the village. |

There are a lot of elements competing for your attention here but the crack leading in and the central position of the tree tells you what the story is. I tried to bring the tree off the page a bit by using a duplicate layer in multiply mode and painting with light on the tree and then using a radial gradient to lighten it a bit. Not entirely successful for me. I think if you had gone too low, the tree would have broken the horizon so you've chosen the best option available without moving to another spot - and sometimes that option isn't available to you. |

Grunge is good. With all the strong lines emanating from the masts and rigging you could get away with almost anything in this. Well thought out PP Tom it works well. I wonder if there's any more orange to balance the cyan/blue? |
