71 Mar 22 Comment I thought the same as John.I've not been there but it's clearly a well known spot so you could realistically lose 1/2 the depth of the bottom and a tad off the left to still make it recognisable and also concentrate the eyes on the two distinct formations. Kudos for braving the chilly weather to get it! Mar 20th
71 Mar 22 Comment That's probably the most sensible idea John but I think that even though I've done it, it isn't giving me what I thought it would so I'm consigning it to the bin!

71 Mar 22 Comment This is well taken, good lighting, positioned well, subtle pastel shades and something in the foreground. Long exposure to give the resulting sea texture. I wonder if you tried a few combinations, say, using f16 with a shorter exposure time? I wouldn't change anything here but would be interested to see other exposure combinations. If you have others, what made you choose this combination over a different one? Mar 19th
71 Mar 22 Comment I didn't know what to leave in or out of this one so the suggested edit and result was quite a surprise, in a good way. It's a huge place to be able to home in on the right composition for me. Mar 19th
71 Mar 22 Reply Takes away a lot of the difficult stuff Mike.

71 Mar 22 Comment Yes, I thought about just right of the timber framed house - keeeping that bit in. Mar 6th
71 Mar 22 Comment Thanks Theresa, some food for thought there so I'll go and have a little play!

71 Mar 22 Comment That was a bit of a challenge and I haven't done it very well but I used a combination of the pen tool in order to isolate the straight line components, together with the clone tool and a fair few layers to put each cut out bit on it's own layer. I had to get rid of the chap in the window but if you cloned him on his own layer and flipped over the selection you might be able to get him to match. The tree cloning was most difficult and isn't very good.

Back to your version.
The image is really well caught and it is caught at the right time of day. The Verticals are good and also the composition shows off the house well.

71 Mar 22 Comment I like this - it shows off the type of day you had and concentrates on the main subject well - tree in freezing water. A nice splash of colour left on the leaves. I might have been tempted to crop left and right to give more emphasis on the subject and also to try and get the full reflection in the foreground but as I wasn't there - I don't know if it was possible.
