A great image to show the scale of what you were trying to capture - works well. You mention that it's hard to find a focus point and I agree. I tried to give it a little more contrast and to give more depth to the back of the image to accentuate the skyline a little. I agree with Theresa about a large print version. I'm not sure what sharpening method you use but I find that high pass sharpening gives me less halos than the unsharp mask for instance. |

Lovely capture and pose from the Woodpecker. There are two minor things I might have done. Firstly tone down the bokeh balls that are the brightest - your eye goes straight to them. Secondly - give the bird a little more light in the eye. Well taken. |

Cracking shot with the exposure just right. Trees positioned well and the Milky Way heading into the top left hand corner - well taken. |

I like this image. The leading line is good, taking you past the trees into the unknown with some good haze in the mid ground. I think perhaps you could afford to lose some of the right hand side which seems to unbalance the image a bit. I cropped it and set the black and white points. The histogram shows a lot of empty area in the highlights which setting the B & W points fixes. I also thought that with there being no leaves on the trees, that cooling the image down might give a slightly more wintry feel to it. |
