Skittish things to photograph so to get so close is in itself an achievement. Good side on pose to give us an "action" view and good separation from the background. |

Lovely complimentary tones in the sky, sea and sand which all work well together.
The strong side light coming over the mountains and lighting up the sand and sea is good but it doesn't work so well on the darker mountainside. As that is at least 30% of the image I wonder whether a crop just below the point at which the bay rounds at the bottom and on the left at the point at which the sky/fog intersects with the mountainside would give a better balance but it's well taken. |

I'd be nitpicking if I tried to find fault with this. The amount of shades of tone in this image are great. You were blessed with a good sky to work with and the foreground textures and tones in the grasses are a good balance. The mid distance trees are a bit darker but that again balances well. |

I agree with Theresa about the crop. The main thing for me here is that you've used a really high ISO and also a 1/4000 shutter speed. For a landscape type shot like this you may have been able to reduce apparent noise by using normal Nikon ISO of say 200 and a correspondingly lower shutter speed.
The tighter crop would focus the viewer on the main portion of the image. |
