Hi Pete, thanks for your thoughts and I can see you have cropped in a bit. Agree with your analysis and in fact, thinking there was a better way to frame this. I think this is sometimes the case…it was a good idea but not really well executed and there is nothing much you can do with the edit tools. More about better in camera capture |

Hi Suzanne. Yes true, but I liked the way the kelp mimicked the rivulets on the left |

Thanks Richard. Yes fair point about not having a clear focal point. I would hope a viewer might just enjoy the contrast between the flow of water and the static rocks |

Hi Richard. Great action shot in difficult lighting conditions. But there is nothing to be done with his blown out left arm (unless you are allowed to use an AI fix which most clubs ban). I think I would be happy to have it as a memory of a vibrant night out. |

Ho Sophia. What a beautiful shot…sharp and well exposed just as you would want! Great story too. The foreground chick look's undernourished whereas the one with an open beak has figured out how to get the lions share.
Depending on how it is going to be shown, I would reduce the highlight on the mother's head starting just above its eye. Shown digitally it might come out blown out. There is feather detail tho so I know it's not.
The foreground stick is a pity so if it is going into Open I would get rid of it. If Nature, then it's a great environmental shot. Well done for getting so close! And at eye level! |

Hi Pete, I think this is an interesting concept and well worth exploring. To emphasize the woman I would be inclined to crop in more, eliminating the window above and bringing the hand rails to the edge of the frame. It would be nice to have a full length capture of the woman but with that particular escalator I can see that you probably can't get this if you are waiting at the top. Maybe shoot from the escalator instead |

Hi Anna, the is is a very restful scene with an interesting feature that is always a favorite. I imagine going hand held enabled you to position the starburst and that worked out really well.
Since the sun is on the right, I think you could have used a gradient to reduce the brightness as we go right to left giving the lighthouse a more 3D look. |

Great action shot Suzanne! I like the crop and the extra contrast and saturation on the riders. The only thing on my mind is a more selective approach to the processing giving the track less contrast than the riders to make them stand out more. |

Hi Natalia, for sure, your crop emphasises the idea of a flag. I love the subtle colors and being complementary, work so well together. By coincidence, my image this month features pink volcanic rocks.
I like your processing and given the underlying idea, not sure how else you could present this. I guess there are many options as to how to crop this but I do like the flag idea.
And thanks for introducing us to Borholm! Its interesting that Denmark has such a diverse "empire" of distant islands all famous for photography. |
