Hi Suzanne, I can see you are going for a moody vibe and this seems to suit the subject really well. But I think you could consider a bit more contrast between the different parts of the scene so I tried lifting the foreground a little leaving the deep blues in the background unchanged.
BTW I do think the peep of snowy mountain adds to the image and would keep it in. But you could crop off a bit of the foreground rather than have a complete reflection as the reflections along the bottom of the image are not very prominent. |

Hi Anna, its a beautiful image and I always love the minimalist ascetic and I never get bored with lone trees which express enduring ideas around strength and resilience. Agree this is one that would benefit from a long exposure but have you tried some blur on the water?
And I realise the Original has the same crop but if it was shot on a full frame camera then you would have the option to present a more panoramic view like 16 by 9 which I think could work with the subject better. |

Hi Natalia obviously you are drawing our attention to the Autumn leaves and focus falls off quickly behind them. So I would be inclined to crop the image so you just retain a glimpse of the port in the distance. I guess this means not making the fog the hero. |

Hi Sophia, this is such a striking image and the gold of the Buddhas works so well with the background. The thing that gnaws at me and which you cannot change is that I really want the twin tower to be moved to the right so it's off center, Yes I know you can't go back there and shoot it from a more left sided pov. |

Hi Richard, I think it's so important to document diverse cultures and pipe music has found so many niches around the world. It's an amazing tradition that the Scots have exported around the world and it's interesting that it has taken root in so many countries, including here. I think your edit is great and have nothing to suggest save for some fringing that is visible on the boundaries of the blurred region (eg his beret) |

Congratulations on seeing the image and capturing it. It's a quirky scene that brings us some novelty on the street. Obviously the couple are the focus and lifting them through your adjustments to give more pop is something I would do too. But I think these could have been made selectively so the couple stand out more against the background. And I would probably go a bit further by lowering brightness, contrast and saturation in the background in a gradient so these parameters fall off with distance. Ie preserve the background but give it a more subtle presence. |
