Gorgeous image Richard with well preserved feather detail. I would suggest you could look at emphasizing the bird more by desaturating the background a bit and making it a click darker. For me the extent of cropping is fine but I'd you have more pixels, I would move the frame a tad to create more space on the left |

Hi Sophia, it's a wonderful image and I think you already have three good comments. To answer your question, yes deleting the scaffolding would be good if you can do it. Doing it manually would be a mission, and in these parts, AI wouldn't be permitted in a club competition |

Hi Pete, this is a beautiful rural scene with beautiful light. It features strong leading lines but they tend to take us outside the image to the right. What about a strong crop removing the poles so our eye follows the road into the frame then turning left. Sorry my example is a bit rough. Maybe lift the side road too |

Hi Anna, this is really intriguing because I notice the cloudy sky is quite like rippled water and I think you did the right thing giving it more light and contrast. Might be fun to try brightening the sea so it marries with the tones in the sky. Playing with the idea one could be a reflection of the other. |

Love the oily reflective water which I think is a real feature of your image and so for me I would select a crop which showcases this. I presume, from your comments that you were keen to include the reflective reds but I don't think you get a natural crop this way. I would suggest you might try having the duck on the top left third and zoom out a bit. This is along the lines of what Ricard did but include much more water and reflections. |

Hi Suzanne, I think you have found just the right time of evening where the lights have real pop and the rest of the scene is sufficiently illuminated. So we have an image with strong impact. My first thoughts are to take out some of the sky because there is not much going on there and to boost the color in the reflection. I like the long exposure but the downside is we loose color contrast. Thanks for sharing! |
