Hi Suzanne, Welcome to our group and looking forward to seeing more of your images and for your comments on our efforts too.
I really like the look you are going for and I can imagine you both playing with the boa and trying it a variety of presentations. I do get a tense vibe from this particular image, partly from her facial expression and her tense fist. And maybe look at her eyes...the RH one where you could try lifting the shadows. |

Hi Xiao, well this is going back a ways! I like the rustic tones of the whole image: his styling and the steps and wall behind them. You get an interesting diagonal flow from the top left. For improvements, I think his face is overexposed. All the rough textures are soaking up the light and we are getting some significant hot spots on his face. Maybe they can be toned down a little in post. There are some strong red tones in his hands, ears and nose and I would desaturate them. And I think you could crop off a chunk of the left hand side. |

Hi Natalia
Yes I think cropping off the top like that does increase the emphasise on the geometry which is the whole point. Increasing the greens also increases color contrast which is a good idea. Thanks for you input

Hi Richard you must be very proud of her and this moment. And she is such a poised 15 year old with the best of her life ahead. I think you have captured her skin tones beautifully. I like her pose. I bet you got some cheeky moments too but you have stayed true to the importance of the occasion. There are some artifacts from blurring the background such as some induced blur around the top of her tiara. You can get rid of this by cloning the background over the tiara then applying the blur and then applying a cut out of the tiara to restore the sharp tiara. |

Hey Sophia this is a great image and applies all your experience capturing birds in flight beautifully. I think you have great advice from Pete and Richard especially with respect to an "incline" theme. |

Hi Pete, I think this is a sensitive study of form and gesture and you have done a good job of taking this excerpt of the cruxifiction scene and focus on it as an end in itself. Doing this creates a further mystery of what the subject of prayer and veneration actually is. And I like the subdued colours which expresses the nature of the image really well. I like what Richard did. Of course I agree with your title and putting it into a club competition would be risky. Even so (having checked out the original online) I think you have created something new, or at least a fresh perspective. |

Hi Natalia, I think you have captured the personality of this young lady really well and you have caught her in just a moment before she runs away or connects with her friends. I think the filter and lens choice has worked well for you, creating an interesting effect with the fountain behind her.i like the dreamy softness on her face but i think the image suffers from the bright light you shot in. I really think it needed some shade. Maybe converting to black and white might enable you to make some drama out of the shadows and highlights. |
