Hi Sophia. Thanks for your comments. Here is a link to a version with the tree sharp and leaving soft focus on the background. For me the hero is the tree https://flic.kr/p/2rjriMS |

Hi Pete
Yes that is what I had in mind. Really just to bring more focus on the man and as an additional element! Maybe since the light is yellow toned, you could warm the highligts on the area of the square he is stepping through. |

Hi Sophia
These are great action shots and you have given us two! I prefer the original image because we can see both bird's heads and beaks in that one. I have nothing to add to the processing you have done |

Hi Pete
This is a great reconceptualization of the original and it's really well executed. Who would know it started out as a busy daytime scene?
As a bit of a challenge (and something I am not going to try) could you created a pool of light from an out of frame streetlight catching the gentleman? Maybe coming from the street behind him. |

Beautiful image Xiou. It is still clutching the twig but looks like it's just flying off. You have caught it with something still in its beak…I wonder what that is?
I thought you could look at the bright leaf on the left and since I suspect it would look bad burned, maybe clone it out with some of the soft background. |

Hi Natalia
I think this is beautifully constructed. I like the diagonal composition which makes it much more dynamic. I guess you worked it out in advance as you didn't have much time once the balloon was released. Nice that the balloon stayed in a central position and that we can clearly see the string that was tethering the balloon. It's an image where we are free to make up our narrative about what it means. |
