I Love this image. It has such a resting peaceful vibe to it. Suggests an earlier era too...I think the treatment is helping that and its very complementary to the subjects that have that old time look. I thought about cropping: have you tried a 16:9 crop to remove a slice of sky and foreground water? |

Wow Sophia that is a magic image. So sharp and needing so little processing. Beautifully soft background. I assume you have colored the background bright spot right behind the birds. Congratulations on such a great image!

Hi Oliver, Love your image even though I am not so fond of oysters, especially when we see how they get to our plate! Others have made some insightful comments. I was interested in the shallow depth of field and think that is right for the image, but I noticed that the line of his hand below the thumb had been sharpened (was that by cloning off the blur?). Anyway I thought it was a bit distracting. |

I love this Jim. Great composition provided by the V fork and the fact that all three birds are looking at you. Nice and sharp. I did check out the background and I think you have some sharpening artefacts going on there so would suggest a mask to eliminate the effect of Topaz on the background....but now I have looked at the other comments and your revision that seems to have gone. Must be a real treat to be able to document the parent too. I also wondered about the fresh leaves in the nest: thanks for the explanation! |

Hi David, Love this. Its captured just at the right time and the way the riders are stacked in the image creates an excellent composition. There is much more drama in the monochrome so that was a great choice. The radial blur looks like a zoom burst and certainly helps create a sense of motion. Not sure I like the fact that it impacts the front rider's front tyre. Maybe mask the effect in that area so its only on the track. |

Hi Barbara
I think this is beautifully shot. I love the black background and the vibrant color of the rose. I think the swirls are a great addition...without them the rose would be floating. I think that bringing the swirls to overlap and blend with the stem is a good suggestion. |
