Lol I have just been reading about Punctum and this seems to be a good example. Thanks! |

HI Barbara, nice study of textures and shapes. Love the creativity of folks that can make something out of more or less nothing. I guess you have to be well over 60 to understand what is being suggested in this image! |

Loving the dynamic diagonals in this image and the low point of view. I think you have a great image. Removing the background is a good idea but it looks cut out (I think from your description it is) and I would be inclined to have some texture added back in there. Plus the cream colour suggested by David helps it look like its less cut out. |

Nice job Richard…made by the processing. Apart from disposing of the crowd I think you did a great job on the mountains. And I like David's suggested edit too. This image really didn't look like a keeper: but you saw the potential in it. |

Hi Jim, love this work and capture. I like the original more as I feel the sky and background trees are needed for context. For me, the crop is to aggressive and the image looses balance. |

Hi Sophia. Great capture. I really like the tree and I think that is the hero of the image. I always thing that milky way shots need really interesting foregrounds and you have got that. But in your processing you seem to have lost the definition of the milky way and I liked your original better. But I processed the original some more using curves in Lightroom for increased contrast, raised the highlights, some dehaze and clarity. Then as a minor adjustment in Photoshop used one curve layer to bring out the shadows in the tree trunk. Oh....and... so sorry but I was not so fond of Venus which is destractingly bright and also the patch of water. So I did a square crop. For the tree!! :) |

Hi David, what a striking autocratic woman. I love the original capture and for me, not so keen on smiley Kateryna! What took my eye was the bulge in her lower lip which I thought was likely just some artefact of her pose in that moment and was OK to fix up. So I did. And moved the background colours to match her's just for fun. Personally I think making "personal" adjustments to fix artefacts is fine. The model should not be able to tell. Anything more could cause offence so not so good. |
