Thanks Oliver. No question the rocks are the dominant focus. There is not too much happening in the water so w hile I agree that your treatment emphasises the water, it was not the motivation for the photo

Brilliant capture. I have seen scenes such as this at the mall performed by similar young lordships. Usually it seems that he wants mom to fix it. Be nice if the nearest Pidgeon was sharp if he is intended to be part of the story and I think he is. It helps balance the image too. |

Wow love these nature action shots you get. Wonderful drama here. I thought the light needed balancing on the heron so I added a gradient filter, pale yellow color and using Color Dodge as the blend mode (fill = 60%) and some masking to reduce the effect on the background. The image was fairly low res so I put it through Topaz Gigapixel to double the pixels (then I had to reduce it a bit to bring it down to the permitted size for PSA. If all this is Double Dutch let me know your email if you would like to me to email the photoshop file. |

Hi Oliver, There is something wonderfully peaceful and meditative about this image. My first thought was that extending the image up (for reasons I understand) gave an odd aspect ratio to the image and to try and squash down that area. In the end my take was to simply crop to emphasize the monk and forego a lot of the background. I thought his feet were a bit distracting being the brightest part and suggest you look at reducing the brightening of these. Doing so would also fix and odd artefacts caused by his toes being compressed into the rug. |

Lovely image Candia. It made me think of the super yachts we see in the City marinas (ie the superstructure)...this may not make sense but it is the first thing I thought. I tried rotating it but didn't come up with anything I thought was better. The high contrast works really well |

Love the drama David but I felt I wanted a bit more in the sky so applied some dehaze and further desat to compensate. And I cloned out the cars on the distant shore although really, I didn't thing they were that distracting |

I am a great fan of rodeo and the drama you capture from photographing it. I thought the triptych was a great idea with the added drama of the center image leaping out of the "frame." The two side images are balanced which gives a nice composition overall although they are fairly similar other than being flipped so I wonder if you have another that adds to the story more informatively. I did think the large empty space below was a bit much and wondered if it could be cropped much more equally top and bottom. The shadow is a nice touch and you would loose a lot of it but I am thinking that is OK |
