This was using a 150-600mm lens at 600mm on a crop sensor camera. I was shooting from my car so I was able to balance on the window. I often handhold this lens. I suspect if there is a 'next' season for birds, I will use a monopod. Like your new profile photo!! |

I'm pretty careful about clipping and work from a calibrated screen but I like the idea of it being a bird. I know I took this in the morning, place opened at 7 am and I was there. |

Most water lilies are fairly smooth unless you can get right up on them. This was shot at 600mm on a crop sensor camera so the compression helps to soften the flower. I like the water color behind the flower. This was natural water and I think a lily pad was below the water which when combined with the sky reflection gave this color. |

I like the amount of clarity front to back. The details of the sea oats and dunes are solid and I can clearly distinguish people near the ocean. I love the sky! Surf's not rough so it looks like a nice day to enjoy the beach. Good job! |

What a pretty butterfly! I do like the contrast of details here. I see enough to know the butterfly's environment but it doesn't overwhelm the butterfly. Do wish I could see more detail of the butterfly's eye. Might be the type that doesn't have really cool eyes but the solid black makes it look flat. |

Reminds me of a bolt of cloth from my "fabric artist" days. Nice flow of lines and colors. Interesting subject matter. My only thought might would be to brighten it a bit and make those colors really pop. |

Pretty scene. Hard for me to tell how sharp the flowers but I can see some nice detail in the leaves. Bright, cheerful photo! Nice! |

Hmmm, made a comment and the whole page disappeared. So will try again. This is a perfect Southern road. Been on many a one. Love the resurrection ferns adding themselves to the much greenery. Hope you got a chance to visit the boneyard in Edisto! This is how 'home' looks to me so I think it's great and wouldn't change a thing! |

I love this scene, the little church, stone wall and water in the foreground are just lovely. The stark almost white areas aren't working for me BUT I do have a suggestion that might work. I love the grass "bunches" that edge the water and make a little path to wall. Trying bringing out more detail for them ( if you have Topaz Precision Contrast would work) and maybe even in the background area for the trees and hill. Then add a color overlay with mask that is close the tones of the tree and use it to cover the brighter areas. You could leave the grass bunches a little lighter to lead one's eye into the photo. If you want a mountain top, you could fake it in PS. |

Looks like a great place to take a walk. The light on the bridge is great but when we come off the bridge, I not sure if I should look at the light on the tree top or the light that is off in the distance. Do agree with other about opening your shadows a bit. This is a perfect setting for Halloween so thanks for sharing. I don't see seems like this in FL. |

Nice!! Love the sky, love the city but the beautiful C curved walk gets lost in the darkness for me. I think with a little dodging and burning you might be able to tease it out just a bit and it would create a nice pop for the photo. I like the original version a lot as well. Now I need to play with my 850 filter........ |

Your little tree is the star. I'm drawn right to it. I noticed the brick work and was wondering if you might work with it to bring out some of it lines and textures which may add more interest to the photo. I can see other possibilities to play with this photo but doubt they would offer much of an enhancement. Well done! |

Normally, I would not find these yellows and golds to be appealing but I love it here. I think the colors create a beautiful mood. There is a wonderful direction and line leading you into the photo. To my eye, there might be some sort of artifacts in the clouds (I looked at the big photo). I know I get them some times in various IR photos. I think you might be able to create a mask for the clouds (expand it a bit and it might help with the halo) apply a blur and then you can use a curves adjustment to add light and dark. Another favorite trick that I use often is the mixer brush. Can't pull the setting off the top of my head but it can blend and cover nicely. |

Thanks! I like the idea of going square-ish. Think my brain has just gone muddled, not being able to shoot on any regular basis has really impacted my processing ability. |
