At first, I thought something was wrong with the hawk but then I read you description. Now I realize it was a squirrel that was having a bad day. I like the background color change. Think it adds some depth and balances well with the hawk. Jesse has an eagle eye and I agree with him about removing the spots. Might not be bad to bring in the crop but I really thing this is a solid photo! |

I like the separation between the subject and the rest of the photo. There is one area that is just a little soft right behind the part of the driftwood that is rising up that you might go ahead and blur it, too. Know what a challenge this can be so good job. |

Thank you! As I progress with these edits, I try to learn new ways to handle some of these issues. I think I might be able to burn it with a curve. Will give it a whirl!!

Such an interesting scene! LOVE the sky and how you framed this! My mind wants to write a story about why some of the trees and stones lean towards the church and others don't and why a couple of stones are leaning away. Agree with Sharon's suggestion of removing that bit of shadow. Really nice!! |

Great image but I so dislike that woman (her actions not the photo) sitting up on the rock. It might help to do a bit of crop but overall, i would be very happy with this photo. Good job! |

There is such a feeling of isolation in this. Love the cottage and foreground but do think the sky needs some help. I like both ideas from Helen and Sharon. I would try to add clouds in some manner to give a bit more balance (even if you crop) just so there is not such an empty space. One thought that might work would to be using 'transform' to make the clouds larger than they are here. |

Love the foreground of this and wish that the background wasn't so detailed. My thoughts are the background competes too much. I think Helen is onto something with it being too bright. The little shanty in front exudes charm!! |

LOL, I have attempted to straighten it numerous times and it seems skewed a bit to me as well. The door isn't symmetrical which makes a bit crazed but I will give your idea a whirl. Just saw a presentation on using Topaz Studio for IR photographs, gone to give it a go, too!!
