I was considering this photo for a wildlife competition and they don't "allow" for cloning or any manipulation of a photo other than basic adjustments and/or cropping. I agree that the removal would be better and they really are very, very fuzzy! It was what appeal to me in that the down looks more like fur than feather to me. Need to find a wildlife contest who wants to see clear photos rather than natural....... |

There is a Dead Lake area near me but I think of myself as part of "central" FL. Agree with the dead branches being a distraction. Like the richness of the colors! |

I like the crop but agree with Jesse in that it looks a tad too noisy. I think that makes the right wing seem a little soft. Your enhancements did make a nice difference! |

Wonderful photo and I hope you didn't "shoot" Mr Turkey with anything but a camera. I would remove those branches through his tail but there is a good chance I would not have noticed them in the first place. I might consider removing or change that piece of tree on the right that looks, to my eye, a bit strange with the blurred tree piece in front of it. Mr Tom is quite handsome! |

Don't know if you have ever heard of Mike Moate's but he has an image of this type of plant that has won lots of awards and your image has lots of potential. I like the colors of the sempervivum but think I would tone down those really bright greens and remove the piece in the upper left corner and the blurry piece on the right. Nice glow on the sempervivum! |

I didn't know you could get an IR BW in PS so thanks for that!! One thing, I might try is on the right side, darkening the area above the ground line (scoreboard and trees)which would add an additional pop to that ball. The look on the pitcher's face the frozen throw, WELL DONE!! I would be putting this in competition.

Liking the idea of the crop. Might clone out the thing on the left and see if I can disguise the pole on the right that is peeking through the tree. I need to play some morewith those filters. If only the weather would cooperate! |

For some reason, that TV shows rings a bell with me but I can't say that I watched it. I like the idea of cropping and will give it a whirl along with Sharon's suggestion of some dodge and burn. I have a friend who insist that I captured some sort of spirit which gives me a chuckle! |

Wow! You are amazing doing hand held hdr and thank you for giving another ides for IR. I like the main 'merged' photo best of all. It has a very painterly appeal, I think. I would definitely want to walk up the hill or sit on the bench a bit. Very nice!!

I like the feathery trees and clouds very much. I had a hard time recognizing the bridge, I might try to open up the darkness that it created in the image. The blue doesn't bother me and I like how it looks in the reflection..... |

For me, there is such whimsy and charm to this image. I like the things you rmoved being removed and think you could crop this a couple different ways and still have such a charming photo. Well done!

Interesting method of processing so thanks for describing it. To my eye, some areas like a bit soft and perhaps dehaze as others have mentioned might serve to bring back a little more detail. I would be tempted to open up the rocky area in the foreground which are a little too dark for my taste. Nice looking area and thanks again for your processing info!

I think the scene renders nicely in IR. I like the detail of the main image in the building but I love what the sketch version did to the background but I think it removes a little too much of the building detail. My mind wants to try to blend the two and I suspect with some masking and blend mode tricks, it could be done. Certainly, this gives me lots to consider when looking for oprtions to process. |

Not water. What is so strange is the "bubble" wasn't in the other shots that I took without moving and I did take other ir shots of other stuff in the area with no bubbles. Thanks for letting me join and am loooking forward to learning more all of you. |

Thank you! The reason I didn't go a bit wider were some distractions that I was afraid I couldn't remove. Might have tried to go to a wider canvas and see if content aware fill would have worked. Something to ponder! If I had taken the other flare spots out, do you think the mystery would be heightened?
