Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
5 Dec 21 Reply Funnily enough it was in my UK camera club this week and got a 19 out of 20 and highly commended by the judge. It also won one of my RPS monthly circles in which we pick a winner each month. But it is certainly a marmite shot (as we say in England - for my American friends, marmite is a spread that you either really love or really hate, no middle ground!). Dec 12th
5 Dec 21 Comment Welcome to the group Sophia. I love the tones in the underside of the wing. I find it quite hard to disentangle the birds - which isn't necessarily a negative. Possibly down to the resolution of the image but I don't find it quite as sharp as I'd like to see. Dec 12th

5 Dec 21 Comment I like the capture of the moment and the expression on the man's face is great against the deadpan look on the woman's.

In blurring the background I feel you've decontextualised it which doesn't work particularly well for me. I get cloning out the passersby but I don't particularly like the tight crop. One reason is that, unlike David, I rather like the lamp post which creates division between them and I don't like the way you've chopped its lid off. More important though, I don't feel you've left enough head space for either of them. It feels as though if either of them stood up, their heads would be right out of the frame - just feels a little too tight for me.

5 Dec 21 Comment Lovely light in this. I wonder if you could have brought out more detail by doing a local edit on the black sand and cliff face - I think they are a little too featureless. I agree with David about going to a pano crop but I would have bought both top and bottom towards the middle, loosing part of the sky and much of the foreground below the reflected glow. Dec 4th
5 Dec 21 Comment A nice shot. It is a bit of a shame that the middle goose has it's head down. I actually prefer the original crop as the white ice at the bottom of the frame draws your eye in more satisfactorily. However, it looks as though it was a dull day so a good choice to compose without sky. Dec 4th
5 Dec 21 Comment An interesting documentary shot. Lovely old car and I like the expressions on the faces of the passengers. I prefer the wider frame given context to the location and the turn of the road plus that lovely sunlight on the rockface behind. Given my comments with respect to Barbara's shot, I don't think your skills at object removal have been as well applied to your own shot as they were to hers - you can clearly see a shadow or mismatch of where the cloning took place. 5 Dec 21 Comment A lovely action shot but I do agree with David that you didn't do a great job on the cloning out of the wires and post. David clearly has mastery of the PS tool - not sure I would have even attempted it but it clearly is a stronger image without the bits he's managed to clone out. Dec 4th
