I quite enjoyed looking at this image. I get a sense of a bustling, active city and over top of that is mother nature putting on her own show. You could do a lot with cropping but I like it as is - lots to explore looking at the scene; no one main subject, but tons of things coming together to make a very nice image.
Very well done! |

Reading your commentary about your vision, I think you've achieved it wonderfully. The grandeur of the palace co-existing with the regular city "stuff" is an interesting look. I like it. For me, your composition puts the palace in context and adds to the story.
Wonderful colours - really like the blues and golds. |

Lovely image, and we, the viewer are nice and close which I like. You've filled the canvas perfectly.
I agree that there are a few spots of softness and desaturating the orange leaves? would be a nice idea. But, the image is still very much a winner and very enjoyable to spend some time looking at. |

What a great image - I can picture sitting on a bench by the railing with a cup of coffee and enjoying the scenery. The sky has lovely character and the reflections make it even better. Looks like it was low tide when you got the shot - higher water level would have given even more of the sky reflection.
In my VF I cropped the image looking to remove a bit of the right hand side. I know this makes the boardwalk play a more prominent role in the image and that may not work for your vision of the image. Just thought I'd see what it looks like. |

Nice angle, the backside gives a different perspective. Colours are nicely saturated and the composition is great. It's a nice image to look over.
With an aperture of f/29, you got great detail except for the furtherest parts of the bloom and the pod behind it. Really don't know how you could have done any better unless you went to focus stacking.
This is a pretty image - well done! |

Hi Laurie, I tried a few different croppings to see how the image would look. I think it's an interesting idea but the few I tried made the sky a smaller portion of the image thus giving more prominence to the lake. I like the lake but the sky is the best part of the image in my mind. I like your idea though and will play some more, maybe cropping some of the sky and some of the lake.
FYI - love the Canal District and also the view from Enger Tower. Best lasagne this side of Italy is at Luce Pizza! |

WOW, what a spectacular image. Beautiful action shot, perfectly placed in the frame - love that you left "room" for him to soar upward.
The detail and sharpness of the eagle is also excellent especially in the wings. The soft background also helps keep my eyes on the subject.
This is a shot I'd be very proud to call my own. |
