Hi Kathleen, this is the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. It's off Interstate 40, maybe 75 miles east of Flagstaff. Honestly, the petrified wood was underwhelming (in my opinion) but the landscape was well worth the price of admission. |

Love this image! The black background makes the pine cones really pop out at the viewer. Really nice job of stacking the images to get such detail.
I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at. Is this a mirror image with the bottom being the reflection of the top part? I ask because the top and bottom don't look exactly alike. |

Wonderful image - I've never seem a hummingbird with those colours.
Nice job on the eye and sharpness. He must have been very still to get this sharpness at 1/200 sec. |

Totally agree with Laurie's and Jerry's comments.
I do find the white pole behind the peafowl a bit distracting. I suspect there was no way to compose the shot without that pole being there. Maybe it can be somewhat darkened?
On the whole, great looking bird and really like the colours. |

Great image showing a lovely tender moment. I don't think I'd change a thing.
Interesting thoughts on the frame. In many competitions up here the use of framing is not allowed so I've always stayed away from them. I can see for personal use how they might be a nice finishing touch. |

Jerry & Laurie, you guys are bang on - the sky needs attention. I was so focused on getting the landscape as I wanted that I ignored the sky. Thanks! |

For me, the red wall with yellow trim really jumps out at me. It almost seems a little out of place compared to the more muted blue and green.
It is an interesting scene and I like how you composed the shot. I'm curious as to what is around the corner. |
