Hi Kathleen, I feel that I should apologize to you. I certainly did not mean to be telling you how to set your camera f-stop. I hope I haven't offended you. I was just thinking a smaller f-stop would give you increased DOF. General consensus on your image is that the sharpness is excellent. Maybe my eyes are getting too old? LOL |

Love the composition of this image. The placement of the obelisk and the light it gives off shining on the old building is very interesting. There is a lot to look at in this image.
Also, very nice treatment of the light and the shadows. |

Excellent shot! Really like how you have placed him in the image.
I wonder why f/3.5. Looks like you could have bumped it up and used a faster shutter or slightly higher ISO and got the entire wings in sharp focus. Having said this, I do like the softness of the background, so maybe f/3.5 is the best setting. |

Wonderful close-up, there is a story in the eyes of that soldier.
Like Andrew I'd suggest a sepia tone but I understand you did and didn't like it. |

My process is to apply enough denoise to get rid of the noise and then check the rest of the image for sharpness degrading or any other issues caused by excessive Denoise. The odd time I'll be too aggressive and during my check I'll see a drop in sharpness. If that is the case then I delete the denoised layer and try again with a gentler hand. |

What a great image. Love it. The details in the butterfly and flower stalk are excellent.
Very nice composition as well. I like the position of the butterfly and how much space it takes up of the image.
The bright white areas in the background are tricky to deal with. I think you did a good job toning them down.
If I was to suggest one thing, I would have been a bit more aggressive with the Topaz Denoise app (love that app, I think ti does a wonderful job). I can till see a hint of poise in the background. |

I'm glad no one was standing in the window when you took the picture.
Definitely a fun shot. It is truly amazing what one can find on the streets that makes one smile. We tend to think of street photography as dramatic and maybe sad or upsetting. As you have shown, it cal also brighten up a day. |
