Thank you for comment, I too would prefer to eliminate the shrubbery. Part of the reason "Not for Show." Sadly, I lack the skills. Cloning is not a good option due to contrast and blending. I do not know how to create masks / layers for that detail. The image is nice, but I do not think worth a lot of additional effort.

Nice summer scene. I imagine sitting on the veranda with a cool beverage. I agree with Stuart RE top crop. Scanning the tree line (interface with sky) I see quite a few artifacts in the sky next to the tree tops. No idea what or why. Also, my eyes are distracted on the left by the smooth curving "U shaped" transition from tree top to sky - something that does not happen in nature. I suggest cropping out the left side to eliminate the empty blue sky and smooth tree / sky transition, which would focus the photo on the interesting cloud feature. |

I like the story and the set up. I find the image to be relaxing and calm. I like the reflections on the car / windshield, the foliage and metal work in the background. I find the post a bit distracting because the color is so close to the cat. You may try brushing the column to darken exposure (On1 Local Adjustment, not sure about other software) to separate the cat. I apologize for the constant refrain …. (perhaps I am a "cropoholic"). I suggest substantial crop from top and right to focus attention on the cat and increase the visibility of the water drops on the car to set the scene. This also improves the composition by approaching the rule of thirds and still leaves plenty of space in front of the cat. Depending on crop, slight darkening in the lower right corner to reduce bright spot. |

A very different take on a car museum / exhibit. Very unusual presentation. No corvette/car stories. Great contrast and texture! I like it. From a technical standpoint, the framing obviously comes up a bit short. The background (people, etc.) does not bother me. The framing does not appear vignette friendly. You may want to try brushing in decreased exposure or camera blur to soften background. |

Great image. Love the texture in the foreground, the red rocks in the background showing depth, swirling rain clouds, and just hint of a double rainbow on both sides (not aware of any techniques to tease out some color on the double). I find my eyes distracted by the bright spot on the left side and suggest that you consider softening it (clone?) for competition / sharing. Second photo in a row that was "saved" by the phone. Do you have a "quick-draw" holster? |

VERY nice. Excellent sharpness on both. I agree with Jack, the 2nd image shows a lot more of the body, color, and is impressively sharp. I also, agree with the comments suggesting clean-up of the background. However, before tackling that, I encourage you to consider substantial cropping of the background. I want to see the caterpillar! If you are worried about the size of the image for printing purposes, I routinely print 16 x 20 with full iPhone image, and 12 x 12 with 30% of iPhone image (many ribbons, mostly blue in club competitions). Resize software (Topaz Gigapixel, etc.) will also help with very small images. Try it. |
