Thanks, Tom. Did you think I should tone down the bright spot or that it was a positive? Either way, I appreciate your thoughts! Ingrid |

Thanks, Greg! The color spots are a mystery, but easily eliminated. Your Idea of increasing the contrast is a good one, and I'll check it out! |

Thanks, Kamal. I didn't notice those color spots, so I appreciate the comment. I'll just convert to black/white again, which should take care of that, I hope. |

Thanks, Darcy - I certainly didn't notice the color spots, nor do I understand how they were created, but I can surely fix that and I appreciate the heads up. I also think you are right about the hanging branch! Thanks, again, Ingrid |

Hi Kamal. You probably should consider a picture book on the various fishing techniques in your part of the World. You certainly have the images. This is another great aerial capture! I think your placement and orientation of the vessel is perfect, although you might consider cropping a bit closer to the subject and darken the large area of sparkling water. Thanks for sharing! |

Hi Tom. You have definitely achieved your goal of creating the illusion of an impending storm and your edited image brings a strong drama to your original image. In fact, it appears to be a storm during the Northern Lights, if such a thing exists! I agree with Darcy that it might be an improvement to lighten the large dark area over the water to provide just a hint of its texture, as long as it doesn't draw the eye too strongly. I think you need to have music playing in the background (maybe Purple Rain!) |

Hi Greg. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun as it creates lovely bokeh and sparkles on the bubbles. The bird is captured well, and the texture of the feathers is perfect. I especially like the way the color palette of the background blends so nicely with the bird's coloring. Great image to end the St Martin Bird Tour! |

Hi Darcy. This is a lovely flower portrait. The background is nicely blurred, but still leaving enough detail to provide an environment for the blooms. I belong to the Flower Study Group (80), and in many cases, the photographer chooses to eliminate the background completely and replace it with a texture or solid background. I think your background enhances the experience. My only suggestion would be to consider replacing the dark shadow of the stem and bloom in the upper left above the flowers with more of the dappled background, either with the clone tool or the content aware fill. It's not a biggy, but my eye keeps getting drawn to the 'hole'. |

Hi Karen. He IS a handsome fellow. You've done a great job in removing any distractions from the background and enhancing the color and texture of the bird himself. I love the way you've filled the frame and created a diagonal composition. This is a great image! |

thanks, Rich. I like Marti's crop as well, but I think I'll also take some of the top to make the aspect ratio a bit less tall and skinny. |

Thanks, Marti. I see what you mean about the stalks on the left. I like your crop, but I think I'll take a bit off of the top to make the aspect ratio less tall and skinny. :) |

Hi Rich. This is beautiful and I love your treatment leaving only the very center in perfect focus. The red is SO luscious and deep. It's a wonderful image - Congratulations! |

Dahlias are my favorite flower, and they come in SO many shapes and variations and colors. I love the background behind this bloom, especially the proliferation of smaller flowers and their various colors, which sets of the main dahlia perfectly. My only comment would be to try to bring out a little more detail in the center of the dahlia, which appears to be slight blown out. Careful cloning of texture from other parts of the bloom might do the trick. Your Astras Farm is an amazing place! |

Hi Doug. This is a wonderful cactus portrait, and replacing the background with black was a great idea. I think that the secondary cactus in the background is important to the composition, so I personally wouldn't remove it. However, it might be helpful to have it more blurred to further emphasize the great sharpness of the primary stem. |

Hi Nadia. I agree that this is a gorgeous Tiger Lily and your presentation really does it justice. I love the colors you have blended into the background texture, which complement the colors of the lily so well. I'm VERY impressed that you were able to grow this plant, especially with a five year patience equation! It is floating, but that doesn't take away from its beauty.... |

Hi Marti. You've created a very effective graphic presentation and I like the composition you have achieved by having the lily and its "reflection" slightly off vertical to make a diagonal. The glowing treatment on the 'reflection' is interesting, but I find it a bit too cartoony, next to the lovely fully realistic lily. Not sure what the alternative would be though. |

Hi Bob. I really like what you've done with this image. Since it's clearly created a painterly effect, I think the softness of the final edit is appropriate and beautiful. I especially like the effect of the filters on the water in the foreground, making the underwater foliage look like it's glowing. |
