Hi Kamal. This is an amazing shot, and I like everything about it - your placement of the bird in the frame, the wonderful colors and textures, the sharpness and great details, your crop... Congratulations! |

hi Erin. This is a wonderful image and the black and white conversion really adds to the atmosphere and the detail on his helmet and body protection, without competing with his pensive expression and body language. It would be interesting to see if the AI tool in photoshop could create the cleat on the bottom of his shoe, but I think it is fine as is. Since it was available in the original, I think a bit more space above his head would be a benefit, and cropping slightly closer to the helmet on the left would also help. I like the space on the right as it enhances his gaze into the area out of the frame. Your neighbor must be VERY pleased! |

Hi Tom. The light in this image is fantastic and really puts it in a class of its own. I actually like the larger crop, allowing the interesting and lovely background to create a subtle diagonal behind the Egret. The only suggestions I would make are 1.the same one as Karen, to remove the white twig beneath his beak, and 2. to darken the little bright areas at the very left edge and along the bottom edge, both of which draw the viewer's eye out of the frame. Great capture - Congratulations. |

Whoa, Greg - that is one handsome devil! I love the textures and color of this guy and how well he is set off by the rich green surroundings. The diagonal composition is very effective, and your focus is amazing. My only suggestion would be to try to increase the contrast around his eye and face to more closely match the intensity of his body. I would also probably clone out the little spot of light blue sky above his eye and replace it with the green around it. This is a wonderful capture and you have handled it very well. |

Hi Darcy. Your wonderful image of this sunflower definitely makes me sorry to be missing this time in Colorado. We have lots of flowers here in Michigan, but nothing as wild and colorful as this. I love the sharpness of the flower against the slightly blurred, but still defined, background flowers. My only suggestion would be to try removing the flowerless stem rising from the top of the main flower and leading the viewer's eye out of the frame. If you picked a bouquet of these, would they last in a vase of water? |

Hi Karen. This is a wonderful lighthouse image, from the perfect exposure, to the framing by the trees, the interesting but noy competing sky, the leading line of the rock wall, and the lovely red details at the top of the lighthouse. I would not change a thing! |

Thanks, Doug. I agree about the brightness of the stroke. I also was able to add to the sharpness in the center and appreciate your noticing it's softness. |

Thanks, Bob. I didn't even notice the softness of the center and it was easily remedied with the tools available in PS. I appreciate your comments. |

Hi Rich. I'm always impressed with your stacking ability. It does seem to increase the depth and richness of the textures and colors. I like the composition you have chosen, even though it is heavily weighted to the right. I also think that making the background black was the right decision. I especially like the shape and texture of the main center petal and the glowing nature of the center of the flower. I would probably clone out the two light yellow spots in the center, because they draw the viewer's eye without adding depth or detail. I would love to see the shape of the overall flower - does it look like a trumpet? Thanks for sharing, Ingrid |

Hi Kamal. this is a lovely wild rose and your capture of it is in perfect focus. The contrast between the pink flower and the green leaves in the background works very well. My only suggestion would be to crop the image to square, where having the flower centered is more intentional and to blur the background on the right, so it doesn't draw the viewer's eye away from the rose. Thanks for sharing! |

I love the textures in this image and your conversion to black/white enhances their effect well. I'm conflicted about the blue tone. It does make the portrayal unique, but I think a straight black/white without the blue tone would be worth exploring. I also like your original. The contrast between the yellow/orange and the green is very pleasing. Of course it's less dangerous.... |

Hi Nadia. I love dahlias and this is a particularly interesting one. The flower is in perfect focus, and the background you have created sets it off nicely. My only suggestions would be to lighten the stem so that it is more visible to reduce the 'floating' effect. I have to say that I think the original is also a great image. If you eliminated the blurred flower at the top and the horizontal leaf on the bottom, it would be a great portrayal of the dahlia in it's natural setting. |

Hi Marti. I love the color and the texture of this iris. I like the black background, but I think the composition would be improved by adding some more space on the sides, which is easy to do since you've made the background black. There also seems to be a light halo on the right side of the middle petal against the stem, again easily removed. I do wish the right hand petal was in sharper focus, but overall I think this is a well done portrait of a beautiful iris! |

Hi Bob. The colors on this are gorgeous and I love the water droplets, especially the ones that have reflections in them. your composition works and the swirl does add interest. Looking at your original, I think you should definitely recreate another edited image using just the bloom on the far right which has tack sharp water droplets and really great reflections! |
