Thanks, Karen. You are right about the crowding, and with the miracle of PS, I can definitely remedy that... It makes me realized how helpful this group is! |

Thanks, Erin. I really should have noticed the crowding of the tail feathers, and appreciate your suggestion. |

Thanks, Darcy. I'm really glad you pointed out the crowding of the tail feathers - I should definitely have noticed that before submission! |

Thanks, Tom. I will try flipping it to see how that works. I also noticed that the tail of the one bird goes out of the frame - a mistake that I should have caught. |

Hi Kamal. This is a great image and you have captured an interesting event at a perfect moment. I agree that the blue framing takes away from the primary subject and desaturating it would help the composition. But overall, I congratulate you! |

Hi Erin. I think your crop is very effective to bring attention to the best focus in the middle of the flower. I also think your decision to make the flower's center in the lower middle of the frame was a great idea. I also like the contrast between the orange of the flower and the green of the background. My only suggestion would be to clone or healing brush out the darker spots in the lower right of the image. |

Hi Tom. I love the drama you have created around this tiny "island". the colors of the water and the sky are gorgeous and really add to the atmosphere. I especially like the glow behind the little tree which makes it the star of the show. I think you should be happy with your results on this one! |

Hi Greg. This is a beautiful composite and you have assembled it very professionally. I like the way the fish shown in each block are swimming towards the middle, and using the sign as the center image pulls it all together. My favorite is the school of fish circling in the top middle image. That would make a great image on its own, maybe with a little more dehaze applied. |

Hi Darcy. You are definitely making me want to visit the Butterfly Pavillion again, sooner, rather than later. I love the composition of your image. It is a unique angle and I really like the fact that the leaf in front is in focus, with the leaves in the background blurred. My only suggestion would be to clone some blurry green over the white spots on the right, left and top, which tend to draw the viewer's attention to the edges. |

Hi Karen. I enjoyed your description and history information. I love photographing abandoned buildings and I like the point of view you chose, creating a nice diagonal composition. I actually like the rock border at the bottom which I think frames the building and mirrors the roof. However, I think darkening the gravel at the bottom, as suggested by Tom, would be a good edit to try. Thanks for this glimpse into the past. |

Hi Nadia. Thanks for your comments - you are more than kind. Since I didn't have access to my computer prior to submission, I will definitely process it further to bring out its "glamour" as you suggested! |

Thanks, Rich. I'm not particularly excited about this image, although the flower was very cool. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to my computer to fine tune prior to submission. |

Thanks, Marti. I agree that it's not one of my best, but it was this or not submitting an image at all since I was away from my "library." :) |

Hi Rich. This is a lovely mushroom and I love the angle you've captured. My only suggestion would be to remove the light green stem coming in from the lower right corner and to add a vignette to keep the viewer's eye on the mushroom. Sorry you forgot your Sony memory card, but your IPhone did a great job, and getting that angle might have been much more difficult with a larger camera! |

Hi Kamal. This is a beautiful flower and you have presented it well! I agree about removing the spot/blurry bug on the right, but I think the in-focus fly is helpful to the composition and presentation. Due to the angle of the flower, I do think that leaving in the stem would be beneficial to the composition. Your focus is perfect and I love the sharpness of the center of the flower especially. |

Hi Nadia. The quality, glow and sheen of this flower makes me want to reach out and touch it. The lighting and focus of the flower are perfect, but I agree that a slightly lighter background might be beneficial. This is a beautiful image! |

Hi Marti. The radial blur you have used has done a great job of emphasizing the main orchid and separating it from the background. The only suggestion I have is to brighten and add some vibrance to the orchid to separate it even more from the background. A square crop might also be something to try. |

Hi Bob. I love the contrast of the magenta flowers against the well-blurred green background. You have done a good job of having the flowers in focus. It's unfortunate that the right top flower is going off of the edge of the frame. If it were mine, I would add to the canvas on the right to equal the distance on the left. Another option would be to crop out the two flowers on the left as well as the bud in the middle, and make the composition be just the three flowers on the left. |
