Hi Kamal. This is a great capture and your focus and exposure are perfect. Although I'm glad I saw the original with the birds and activity in the background, I think your crop has brought the proper attention to the main subject and created a effective composition with the diagonal of the net behind him and the elimination of the boat clutter at the bottom. The light is hitting the fisherman in a very interesting way and the fish scales on his chest add a wonderful detail. I agree that it might be beneficial to crop a bit closer at the top. |

Hi Erin. This image really captures the concentration of the primary subject and I love the sharpness of his eye lashes. I agree that the secondary figure should remain to create a sense of environment, but I think Karen's suggestion of a crop on the left is worth trying. I also think that increasing the saturation of the yellows was a good idea. I'm impressed with your decision to attend a 7am game!!! |

Hi Tom. Your focus stacking is very effective, and I love the way you have presented this wonderful feather on a black background with so much detail and texture. I also love the "bigger than life" strategy. My only suggestion would be to try to lighten the bottom tip of the feather to an exposure closer to the top tip so it doesn't disappear against the background. It might also be beneficial to clone out the little black hole in the upper tip which draws my eye away from the lovely white and gold fluff. This is a wonderful image and definitely suitable for framing! |

Hi Greg - your concept of a collage is an excellent way to give a feeling for this colorful island, and each image is interesting on it's own as well. I agree that the only weak link is the upper middle photo, although an increase in clarity, vibrance and contrast might give it the punch it needs. My only other suggestion would be to try colors other than gray for the background grid - maybe a yellow/orange or turquoise. You may decide that gray is the best, but a brighter color might emphasize the joyful feeling of the island. |

Hi Darcy. What a beautiful butterfly and it was cooperative of him to spread his wings near some lovely flowers and to hold still long enough for this great capture. My only suggestion would be to add a stronger vignette. The little pink flower showing behind the leaves doesn't bother me and may add some continuity to the composition. |

Hi Karen. These are very cool mushrooms and I love the surface texture on the tops. I'm not sure about the out of focus mushroom in the background. It does create a grouping of three and a triangle composition, but it definitely draws attention away from the primary two in-focus characters. I agree that the green is distracting and should be desaturated, but I also think that a conversion to black/white might really enhance the atmosphere and composition - worth a try anyway... |

Hi Greg. The reason for the aperature is the fact that I shoot at high speeds to counter some of my physical limitations. Not sure why, but the wide open aperature still resulted in adequate focus in the distance... |

This a beautiful rose and your treatment is unique and enhances the beauty. My only suggestion would be to add a bit of canvas background on either side of the rose so the petals are not so close to the right and left borders. |

Hi Doug. This is FANTASTIC! The light, the composition, the color palette, the texture, the focus, the background - all are perfect. I can certainly understand why it was chosen for the Legacy 2024 publication. Congratulations! |

Hi Nadia. This is a beautiful image and you have done an excellent job of combining the two into one composition. The amazing light and rain droplets both on the flowers and in the background really make this a unique image with lots of atmosphere and a strong story. I think there would be another strong image - a vertical with just the flower on the left. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi Marti. This is a beautiful lily and I love the point of view you have chosen. If it were my image, I would probably crop it square to eliminate the black cutout of the right, and also lighten it up a bit more like the original. Just a thought.... |

Hi Bob. I love the impressionistic presentation of this pile of flowers. The colors are beautiful and your motion zoom blurring worked very well. My only suggestion would be to further blur the little flower bunch to the middle right of the white bloom. This would be gorgeous as a large canvas print! |
