Hi Kamal. This is perfect. The composition, focus, exposure and interesting subject matter all pull together to create a wonderful image with a great story. I think you are assembling quite a collection of images showing the fishing techniques in your part of the world. The collection would make a great article for a magazine! |

Hi Erin. This is a wonderful moment to catch and it tells a great story. I love the silhouette if the figure against the beautiful colors of the sunset and its reflection in the water. The only suggestion I have is to try to eliminate the white halo around the figure's head and shoulder. What a serene scene! |

Hi Tom. Your focus and exposure are perfect and I love the pose you have selected. I especially love the detail and positioning of the wings. This is a beautiful bird and an interesting capture. The only suggestion I would have is to add a slight vignette to deemphasize the grass on the edges. |

Hi Greg. You have done a amazing job of recovering the background details and the beautiful color on the robin. I agree with removing the light colored pier behind the tail. Otherwise, I like your crop. |

Hi Darcy. This is a beautiful portrait of this flower, and I love the history behind it. I agree that darkening the lower 1/4 would put more emphasis on the bloom. I would be tempted to just crop off the bottom 1/4. This is a very interesting colored iris - I don't think I've ever seen it before. |

Hi Karen. I attended a photography workshop in Charleston, SC many years ago and Middleton Place was one of my favorite spots. The tree you picked is magnificent, especially with the spanish moss. Your exposure and focus on the tree is great. My only suggestion is to try to add some texture to the clouds, which appear to be blown out. When I have this problem, I look for an image that has clouds that are properly exposed and clone their texture on to the blown out clouds at a low opacity. Thanks for sharing this, and bringing back some happy memories for me! |

Thanks, Marti. I think the hairdo was just an unruly bloom because it was recently picked. I do have some images of dahlias in their decline and they are beautiful in their own unique way. |

Hi Rich. This is lovely, as is the original version with the white background. The composition is dynamic and you have done an excellent job of border patrol and keeping all of the tendrils within the frame. I assume that there was a lot of busy background behind these in your yard, so kudos on what must have been a difficult selection process! |

Hi Kamal. My first reaction was "Who is that masked creature?!?" Just kidding.... This is great capture of the plant and the fly. I love how you've captured the details of the fly and his hairy derriere. The green highlights on the fly really connects him to his surroundings. I agree that the white areas are distracting and unnecessary. I would probably eliminate them completely, by selecting the bud, then its inverse and cloning from the green blur of the rest of the background on the left. I think your model needs a name :) |

Hi Doug. This is beautiful and I definitely like the main one you submitted best. The colors and textures are wonderful and the composition is unique and interesting. My only suggestion would be to add a little bit of a yellow cast to the white edge that goes up the middle so it doesn't demand so much attention. |

Hi Nadia. This is gorgeous. I love your crop and the background you have selected. It really brings out the richness of the flower and allows it to grab all of the attention I agree with the nit pick suggestion from Marti, but I'm not sure I would have even noticed if she hadn't brought it up. |

Hi Marti. This is a beautiful and unusual rendition of your Amaryllis. Are you aware of the Facebook page "The Nature of Orbs"? I spent a great deal of time a few years ago, working with an action that creates this type of treatment, only square. I was always amazed by the different results based upon where the crop was made, etc. Thanks for sharing this great image. |

I love capturing flower collections in supermarkets. They are always so colorful and cheerful. I actually like your original, especially if you cropped it square to eliminate the edges. The post processing technique you have used creates an interesting abstract and I like the flowers that poke through the swirls. Actually, I would try cropping this square as well, to concentrate on the middle where the swirl interacts completely with the swirl. |
