Hi Kamal. This is a very simple image with a strong impact. I love the shapes and their interplay, especially the shadows inside the dome. I agree that darkening the forground a touch would help the composition, but it's a very interesting building and you've captured it well. |

Hi Erin. I, too, like the crooked angle and think it suits the subject matter well. I agree that cleaning up the background would be beneficial, but the boldness of the mascot figure stands out well, in any case. The position if the mascot's arm pointing at you, is great. |

Wow Tom, what a gorgeous image - well worth the early outing. I love the colors and the silhouette of the bridge against the sky. I also love the star quality of the lights, I agree with Darcy's comment about the lower right corner, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. |

Hi Greg. I love the tonal range in this image and the sharpness of the rocks, stream and reflection. I also think the curve of the stream really adds to the interest of the scene. You are right, it is quite peaceful and serene. I agree that the tree on the left is an important compositional element, but I also agree with Darcy, that having it less prominent would be an improvement. Did you consider converting it to black and white? |

Hi Darcy. I think the composition of this image works well, and I don't think the yellow backpack detracts at all. I agree that reducing the brightness of the upp the important parts of the image. The balance between the train cars and the girls makes the image pleasing and tells the story. I love the curve of the train cars and the tracks. |

Hi Karen. The first thing that struck me about the image was the dramatic diagonal of the flags leading into the frame from the right to the left. The exposure and focus throughout the image is perfect and you have told the story well. If you have the opportunity to return, I'd love to see an image taken from a much lower viewpoint looking back at the Memorial Building, making the flags more dominant. Thanks for sharing this emotion-provoking scene! |

Thanks, Rich. I also love my RX10iv. I'm concerned that Sony hasn't come out with a MarkV edition in so many years. I was so worried that they might discontinue to model, I purchased an extra just in case. What do you hear, if anything? |

What a lovely dreamy image! Having just moved from California to Colorado, I have really missed the poppy season this year. I think your post-processing was very effective and removing the brightest areas was a good decision. I'm conflicted about the crop. I like the severe crop that Doug suggested, but I also really like the darke, not fully opened, poppy and the interesting grass to the left of the flowers. I might try cropping even more off of the left to emphasize the two blooms and suggest a conversation between them. Overall, though, it's a very pleasing capture and has a wild and moody feel to it. Thanks for sharing a bit of California spring! |

Hi Kamal. I LOVE the texture and background color that you have applied to this image! I agree that removing the damaged areas andd fly would be an improvement, but you should be very happy with the effect you have createdd. If it were my image, i would probably have left a bit of the stem in the composition so that the flowers are not just floating in the air. What texture did you use to create the effect you've achieved? |

Hi Doug, I love the complementary colors in this image and the way that the green leaves appear to "hug" the flower. I'm not bothered by the outer blur because the central petals are in focus and the blurrier edges draw your eye to the center. It's often difficult to capture a unique tulip image and you have definitely accomplished that. Thanks. |

Hi Nadia. This is a beautiful flower and the color contrast of the red against the green is striking. The focus of the flower is very well done and I think your crop works well. When I initially saw the image, before reading your comments, I felt that the background was very noisy. Now, I realize that it's the texture you added, but my personal preference would be the origial smoother background. I think darkening the background is a good idea, but I would probably do it with an exposure adjustment rather than a texture. Overall, it's a wonderful image. |

WoW Marty. If I hadn't seen the original, I would never guessed that the perfectly blurry background wasn't created in camera. The flowers are in perfect focus and the colors are beautiful and vibrant. I agree about the yellow at the lower left, but, other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. |

Hi Bob. Harold Davis popped into my head as soon as I saw your image. I actually like the composition as presented, except for the bright pink part at the upper left pointed out by Marty. It's very colorful and fanciful and I like the semi-circular shape created by the stems. I also like your original where all of the details of the individual flowers are clear and in focus.d |
