Thanks, Tom. What steps do you take to match the sky to the scene? I've never seen any guidance on that. Ingrid :) |

Thanks, Greg. I appreciate your noticing the light on the clouds coming from the wrong direction. For some reason, I never see that type of thing, and it's easily corrected. |

Hi Kamal. What a great capture. Your placement of the figure and camel in the frame is perfect and I love the detail and texture of the camel, and the gentleman's skin and clothing. I also smiled when I noticed the optical illusion of the cap on the camel's head. I agree that removing the power lines would be beneficial. Thanks for taking us on this fun cultural journey! |

Hi Erin. I also want to congratulate you on your image selected in the Showcase! What an honor.
I love your point of view in this image of the Little League game, as well as your choice to go monochrome. I love the detail on the back of the main figure, and the fact that the background is less sharp, but still defined to add to the story. I only have a minor suggestion and that is to eliminate the light blotches in the upper right corner, which draws my eye in that direction. |

Hi Tom. This is a great image and your editing really added interest and drama. I especially like the way your processing brings up the flowers in the foreground which leads the viewer's eye right to the building. I agree that adding some texture to the sky could increase the overall effectiveness, but I love your creative approach and the image you have created. |

Hi Greg. Your original image is a beautiful capture of the bridge and it's surroundings. I actually think I like it the best, although the final is significantly more dramatic. I like the warmer tones of the water and the bridge, which contrasts well with the darker blues in the sky. It looks like it should be an illustration in a book. I agree that it would be beneficial to eliminate the smudge in the sky in the middle. I'll have to check out the Dynamic Auto Painter program! |

Hi Darcy. This is a very interesting location, and your description really adds to the story. I think that the black and white presentation is very effective and I love seeing the landscape beyond through the door and window. I especially like the leading lines created by the gravel the snow ridges which bring the viewer's eye right to the door. Although I love the the window on the right, I think a composition created by cropping just to the left of the window would be very strong and more dramatic. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing - maybe I can convince my husband that we need to make an outing to Pike's Peak. Ingrid |

Hi Karen. I love this type of stairway image, and this is a fine example of capturing the contrasting textures, shapes, lines and perspective presented by this one. I think your choice of black and white is every effective. Your composition is also excellent and I love the way the staircase is placed in the frame. Great job! |

HI David. Your presentation of this orchid has certainly given it a personality and I'd love to know what it has to say. I think the placement of the flower in the middle of the frame works well and I love the dreamy feeling. A tack sharp presentation of the entire flower would be technically proficient, but I like the soft quality of your image. Personally, I would eliminate the purplish circle area under the right hand side of the flower and darken the purplish area to the right of the flower. because they compete with the orchid. Thanks for sharing this! |

Hi Shirley. I agree with David's comments. I especially like the diagonal grasses. Cropping the image to just include the lower flowers is a good suggestion. This image certainly invokes spring and has a wonderful cheerful atmosphere! |

Hi Marti. This is a very creative composite. The concept is great and you have executed it well. I agree that the middle flowers need some brightening to match the brilliance of the others. Also, I would leave the inside of the right eggshell to match the other two shells. which have a nice feeling of depth. You've inspired me to do some creative thinking myself! |

Hi Esther. This is a beautiful image, well-composed, sharp focus and set off well against the background which has a nice feeling of depth to it. I agree with Marti's comment about the blown out white areas, but these could easily be fixed with the clone tool. Spring has sprung (but not here in Colorado where we had a very large snowstorm last week!) |
