Thanks, Kamal. I'm always surprised when one of my 75mph images is in focus! |

Thanks, Erin. I, too, would love to have one of the two barns completely in the frame. Unfortunately, I-80's speed limit got in the way :) |

Thanks, Karen. Maybe next year, I'll see these in time to be able to capture on of the barns in full.... |

Thanks, Tom. I, too, would have preferred to have one of the barns in full, but at speed, I was glad just to get them at all, Maybe next year, I'll be quicker.... |

Hi Kamal. What more can I say? This is a wonderful image and I love the placement of the figure in the frame and the contrasting colors of her dress against the blue sky. The moon above is an added bonus. The fact that you have taken this image from a point of view below the dancer really adds to the effectiveness of the image. Thanks so much for sharing another unique cultural event! Ingrid |

Hi Erin. I agree with all of the other comments above, and especially agree that this is a great portrait of your daughter. It definitely captures her determination and concentration. Cropping out the other figure emphasizes the solitary and introspective nature of the sport. The focus on your daughter is great and I love the slighty blurry fence behind her. |

Hi Tom. I love the composition and the colors in this image. I think the focus stacking was handled very well to achieve the result you have obtained. I agree about removing the two bright lights on the left, but that's a minor distraction. I think there's also another interesting minimalist image that could be created with just the sharply focused wall in the foreground.:) |

Hi Greg. This is very interesting and unusual image and your decision to isolate the figure from the busy background was very well handled. The black and white treatment really adds to the drama and graphic nature of the composition. I agree that eliminating the bright spots on the face mask would be
beneficial, but overall I think that this a wonderful and artistic image! |

Hi Darcy. This is a great capture of a beautiful bird. I love the texture and detail of the feathers. I also like the placement of the bird in the frame and the reflection. Personally, I would not crop anything off the top of the image. The color and pattern in the water really creates a nice contrast to set off the pelican. |

Hi Karen. I love the subject and the composition of this image and the intimate moment you have captured. The blown out areas caused by your flash are unfortunate, but do not take anything away from the emotional pull of the image. When I find those types of areas in an image, I try to clone in some of the surrounding areas at a lower opacity. You might want to try that, but no matter what, you have captured a unique and poignant. |

Thanks, Marti. Don't really have a competition opportunity for this image at this point, but I do plan on entering it in an art show next summer. |

Hi David. This is an amazing graphic image of a beautiful Bird of Paradise. Your addition of the leaves really enhances the composition and was well worth the effort -great idea for sure. This image would be a great candidate for a large metal print. I have no suggestions for improvement - you've created a wonderful piece of art! Ingrid |

Hi Shirley. Wow, I want to reach out and touch that bee, the texture is so realistic. I like the way the flowers fill the frame and the diagonal stem is a great leading line. The bee is well placed to give it the attention it deserves. I understand the suggestions that David made, but I think the image is effective as it is. The background is unfocused enough not to compete with the flower, but still gives it a sense of place. The border finishes it off nicely. Ingrid |

Hi Marti. I haved tried to capture bleeding hearts many times and you have done an excellent job with this group. The way you have isolated these blooms and darkened the background is very effective. I agree with David that cropping out the less focused blooms could make the composition even more effective. I would also take out the little whitish blotch in the upper middle of the background. |
