Thanks, Xiao. I appreciate your taking the time to work on my image. Unfortunately, increasing the contrast really brought out the haloes on the edges of the mountains. I might be able to lessen that with some work.... Ingrid |

Thanks, Gregory. I agree that it might make a good black and white, and might try that, although the color palette was particularly peaceful as we travelled by. Ingrid |

Hi Syed. This is a very effective image. The composition is a dynamic diagonal and the perspective and color brilliance really makes this an interesting capture. Although the sky is flat and plain, I think this allows the main subject stand out well and I think I prefer it to a more interesting sky. My only suggestion would be to try to eliminate the halo effect around the tops of the figures again the sky. Thanks for sharing this. I always feel like I'm experiencing a new travel experience with your images. Ingrid |

hi Xiao. I agree that this is an excellent image, capturing the bird well, but also placing him in an artistic composition which brings attention to the bird, but still provides interest and mood. The only suggestion I would make is to try desaturating the background just a tad, to make the bird the most brilliant color in the image. That said, comparing the results might make it clear that it is better just the way it is! Ingrid |

Hi Tom. This is very effective and well done. It tells a great story, and I agree that the blurring of every element except the player and the upper half of the referee was an excellent choice. Now that Darcy mentioned it, I thing that cropping the sign of the left might draw more attention to the action and wouldn't overly reduce the space in front of the figures. This image has a strong impact. thanks. Ingrid |

Hi Greg. This is a very unique treatment of this dancer and I like it A LOT! The selection worked very well and I'm another person who has never seen the Path Blur in action. Extracting him from the background brings all of the attention to the figure and is very effective. I love the way you have saturated the color and the Topaz filter makes this a great illustration suitable for publication. Thanks for sharing, Ingrid |

Hi Darcy. This is an excellent portrait of a beautiful tiger and the background could actually be in the wild which adds a nice dimension to the image. I love the sharpness in the tiger's eyes, mouth and whiskers. I have no suggestions for improvement. It's great as is. Ingrid |

Hi Karen. This is a very unique concert portrait because of the unusual expression you caught on his face. The decision to blur the background and tone down the lights was done extremely well and is not easy to do in post-processing without some bleeding into the figure, so congratulations on doing that perfectly. I like the fact that the figure takes up most of frame and his guitar creates a nice diagonal in contrast to the vertical figure. Your Camera Club should definitely give you high marks. Ingrid |

Thanks, Marti. The border issue is always an interesting consideration. I tend to avoid them because of Camera Club rules and the fact that there would be a border of a matte, if framed. But I think it would help for the purpose of social media posting. Ingrid |

thanks, Shirley. Unfortunately, adding a border would disqualify the image from my Camera Club's Flora category, but I can see why it would be an improvement for social media posting. Ingrid |

Thanks, Randall. A stroke might help for social media posting, but unfortunately, such an enhancement would disqualify the image from my Camera Club Flora category.... Ingrid |

Hi David. this is an amazing composition and capture. Could definitely be award winning, in my opinion. The original was nice, but this crop and processing are exceptional!!! Ingrid |

Hi Shirley. The poppies were certainly amazing in California this year, and this image is proof. I also agree with Randall and David, but feel that your image does capture the nature and beauty of a poppy field, which is not always perfect. |

Hi Marti. I love this dahlia and the way you have lifted it from a distracting background. I agree that giving it a bit more space is helpful, but I actually like the purple tips. You have done a great job with the focus! Ingrid |

Hi Linda. This is beautiful and the crop works well, although I like the composition of the original image as well. I love the reflection and the contrasting colors. I wish I would come across such an engaging water lily scene! |

Hi Randall. I love this image. It is very graphic and a great minimalist composition. The only thing I would suggest is a vignette which would eliminate the concern about the edges not being in sharp focus. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi Gene. This is certainly a beautiful rose and the water droplets really add to the interest. I find the shadows on the petals a bit distracting, but when you are in a hurry, it's a fact of life. The lower part of the rose is not in perfect focus, which is unfortunate, but the brilliant yellow color holds it together. My only suggestion would be to darken the bright spots in the background.
