Thanks, Xiao. My intention was to have the image be somewhat confusing, since it reminded me of a Escher design, evoking a paradox. So I guess it's a good thing that you thought it might be confusing. :) Ingrid

Thanks so much for your comment, Tom! I looked at trying to reduce the darkness of the intersections and you were right, it's not an easy issue. I guess I'll just have to leave it as is..... Ingridf |

Hi Syed. I had no idea that there is a sport of Camel Polo, and it must be very challenging! I like the moment you have captured and the positioning of the player, each one with their mallet in a different position. They are set off well against the background and in good focus. My only suggestion would be to try to eliminate the halo around the figures, but that could be a very time consuming endeavor. Thanks for bringing this event to us! Ingrid |

Hi Xiao. You are really impressing me with your bird captures. I know how difficult it is to find interesting birds and to catch them in an interesting pose, and you are doing it consistently. This is a great image and an interesting pose. The bird and tree are in sharp focus and the background blurred enough to allow good separation from the bird. I agree that a tighter crop from the top and right might improve the composition a little, but this is a wonderful image as is. Thanks for sharing! Ingrid |

Hi Greg. I love old vehicles and I think you selected a very effective viewpoint from which to take this photo. I agree about the lack of detail in the glove box. It would be interesting if the the shadows slider in Camera Raw or Lightroom could recover any information. You might also try cropping the top down to the top of the haystack, which would eliminate the light area on the upper right and focus the viewer more on the vehicle. I wish that the entire steering wheel was in the frame. I tried an experiment to see if I could create the left edge of the steering wheel with the content aware fill tool. It might be possible with a lot of refining. I think the Topaz grunge effect was a great idea. Ingrid |

Hi Darcy. Coloring the boy's shirt red was an excellent idea - he would definitely have been lost in the background without that change, and you did do it well. Your composition definitely brings out the insignificance of man versus nature and tells a nice story of the boy's solitary adventure along the shore. |

Hi Karen. Your lens did a very nice job - the balloon in in perfect focus, and the details are great, including the drooping rope going from the side of the balloon down to the basket. It is more of a photojournalistic image, documenting the balloon as it floats by. Since your original has the interesting tree branches near the balloon, it might be an interesting composition to crop it with the branches framing the left and bottom of the balloon - just a thought. Hi David. This is just beautiful and I think you have handled the shoot through assignment very well. (I didn't submit an image this month because I didn't like any of the shoot through images I attempted - found it very difficult). Great job! Ingrid |

Hi Shirley. This is beautiful. I can see the filter, but I think it adds a nice dimension to the image. Ingrid |

Hi Marti. I like Linda's crop, setting the delineation between the colors at a diagonal. You have done a good job in capturing them through the fog, but I agree that if this weren't a shooting through assignment, I would prefer to see them more brilliantly. Ingrid

Hi Randall. this is a beautiful flower and the black and white treatment is very effective. I love the sharpness of the flower's petals and the fact that you have placed it in a glass. Although, I understand the darkening of the table, I think it's great as is. Ingrid |

Hi Gene. I agree about the background being distracting and I like the background darkened. You've done a good job of capturing the texture and shape of this flower. Ingrid |
