This is a beautiful image. You have captured the bird in a very interesting position and the berry in its beak is great. The way you have blurred the backround is VERY effective and sets off the bird and branch spectacularly. Congratulations! |

The lighting on this is fantastic and you have captured the hummingbird at a perfect moment! I would definitely prefer a tighter crop to put the emphasis on the bird and the flowers. I think that the stem on the left is distracting, even though it is highlighted by the interesting light. |

This is a very fun image and your post-processing was right on the mark. I love the way Santa is slightly slumping and looking more than relaxed. The pose of the gentlemen sitting on Santa's lap is also amusing and adds a lot to the composition. I think it is great the way it is and I have no suggestions for improvement. :) |

Except for the oversized moon, I would not have suspected this was a composite. I like the way the moon and the sculpture have similar colors, which makes the composition work cohesively. I agree about the pole to the right of the moon, so I would remove it. The other suggestion I would make is to crop the image just to the left of the last light pole. The composition is more focused on the relationship between the moon, the path and the sculpture. the misty lights are a nice finish on the right hand side. I find night photography very difficult and you have done a great job, especially considering the images you combined are hand held with a phone. Nice work! |

I always love images of circular staircases taken from this point of view and you have done a great job of capturing the swirl in perfect focus from top to bottom, reminiscent of a nautilus shell. I love the texture pattern on the steps, creating a nice contrast with the smoother stone edges and the railing. This image might also make a great conversion to black and white. |

This is a lovely portrait and I'll bet your friend, Barbara, is very happy with it! I agree about the stark whiteness of the brushes tips, but that's a small point. The pose, and impish smile are very engaging and I really like the contrast of the background color you selected. |

thanks, Tom. I'm actually baffled by the vertical stripes you mentioned, since they are not in the original and I certainly didn't add them on purpose. They were easy to remove and I sincerely appreciate your comment because it definitely improves the image. :) |

Thanks, Marti. I think half way would strike the right balance and I'm going to work on it with that in mind. |

Thanks for suggestion on the white balance. I think it is an improvement, but maybe just slightly less bright. It takes care of the bright trianble too. :) |

This is a beautiful dreamy image and the colors are wonderful.Your treatment of the background is perfect and I really like the pinkish glow you created above the flower. Personally, I like the straight up and down composition that you selected rather than a diagonal for this bloom. It is very calming and serene which is appropriate for this dreamy lens baby presentation. |

I like the way you have situated this grouping of roses in the frame, creating a nice diagonal composition. The contrast with the darker green leaves behind the roses is very effective. Of course, the water droplets everywhere create a lovely mood. My only suggestions would be to darken the leaves along the upper edge as they draw my eye upward and out of the frame. Nice focus throughout! |

You have selected a great composition from your original image and I like the graphic nature of your finished image. My only suggestion would be to soften it just a tad to see if reducing the grainyness (is that a word?) is an improvement. I prefer the hints of the other flowers in the background, rather than making those areas black, though. |

What a gorgeous and interesting bloom! Your post processing is well done and I think that the black background was a good choice. I like the yellow you've brought out in the center and petals on the edge, but my personal preference would be to have the white petals just a touch more on the white side as they are in the original. The shapes and texture of this bloom are amazing. |

This is an amazing minimalist image and your post processing was brilliant. I actually like your rectangular crop better than the square that Linda suggested, and appreciate the softer fade off at the bottom. The color tones are beautiful and the composition dynamic and serene at the same time. Congrats! |

What a lucky catch and I certainly understand your frustration at not having time to fetch your camera. The IPhone did the job well, though. I agree that your processed image is a bit too highly sharpened and I actually like the texture of your original better. I think that your background treatment on the processed image is an improvement, but I agree that the lighter areas on the edges should be darkened. Your capture is very unique! |
