Hi Kamal. This is a very interesting photo and your post processing really increases its impact. I'm impressed that you were able to capture this with an iphone. The composition is successful in bringing the viewer's attention to the subject and I also like that you have left a lot of negative space around the subject. Thanks for providing this glimpse of a world that I will never personally see. |

Thanks. Tom. I adjusted the turquoise to be a pit more skyblue which was what I saw through the background image when I captured it. I think it's an improvement, so I thank you for the suggestion! |

Hi Xiao. This is a very strong image. I especially love the lighting and the way the light outlines the model's features and the texture of her suit. The background was very well selected and, the verticals on each edge frame the model and bring my eye back to her. The "S" curve created by the model's pose brings interest to the composition. I think this is my favorite of all of the portraits you have submitted since I joined this group. Thanks for sharing it!

Hi Tom. This is a beautiful presentation of this flower and I'm impressed with your creativity of photographing it underwater with the milk and food coloring. It's unique and very effective/ Your your experiment was a definitely a success. I love the color palette and the way the light is diffused. You have certainly created an ethereal feel. You might want to try to crop a bit off of the right side to make it a square and have the flower not centered. If you have other flowers/plants in the same lighting and color palette, I'll bet they would make a nice series. |

Hi Greg. I love this rock formation and the way that you have captured it with the interesting sky and snow in the foreground. You have done an excellent job of bringing up the detail in the rock and lighter areas of the sky. I agree with Tom that the rock may be a little bit too orange, and I would probably try to add a little more contrast between the darks and lights in the rock formation. Overall, though, I think this is a wonderful subject, well composed and in perfect focus. I'm also jealous of the opportunity you had to visit this interesting and unique area. |

Hi Darcy. I love this type of subject and am always on the lookout for interesting windows. Santa Fe seems be be a great spot for this. I like the composition and the fact that the window is off center. The texture of the wall and the window frame are also helpful in telling the story. If it were my image, I would probably try to use the clarity slider a little more on the window frame and plants. I would also probably clone out the little light reflection in the black area behind the plants. Overall, I think this is a successful image of a charming subject I particularly like the overall color palette and the faded color of the window frame. You make me wish I had a reason to return to Santa Fe. |

Hi Karen. I think that you have done a fine job of restoring this photography, without losing the texture and tonal quality of the original. I like the mixture of pure black and white and the hints of the more sepia tone. I think the Adelmans would be pleased! I hope they get to go back into the beautiful antique frame to reside happily for the next 120 years. |

Thanks, Greg. For my post-processing I combined two images. The first was a picture of a segment of the tree including many blooms, branches and sky behind. I used this as the background and blurred it by reducing clarity and texture. The second image was of the three blooms close up and I just did the normal adjustments for clarity, contrast, etc. When I made the mask to put it over the background, I reduced the clarity on the Mask edges to try to blend it a little. I made a conscious decision to run to top petal and bottom petals off of the edges so they blooms wouldn't be floating, but I'm wondering if that was the right decision since having the subject run off the edge of the frame is generally considered a bad idea. |
