14 Nov 21 Reply Thanks, Greg. I'll try a black and white conversion and see how it works that way! Ingrid Nov 15th
14 Nov 21 Comment Hi Syed. This is a very intriguing and successful image. The colors and patterns are amazing and your point of view is unique. Your description of what this image represents is fascinating, but I think the image stands on its own as a beautiful almost abstract composition. I can certainly understand why this is one of your favorite images, Syed! Thanks for letting us see it! Ingrid Nov 15th
14 Nov 21 Comment Hi Xiao. The image really drew me in when I first saw it. Initially, I thought it might be two models dressed identically and standing with their elbows touching. an almost acrobatic feat. However, when I read your description confirming that it was a mirror image, I realized what a clever composition it is. I agree that the difference in the luminosity of the figure and the mirror image is a bit distracting and the image might be improved by lightening the mirror image a tad and/or darkening the model, so that they are closer in exposure. I love the concept that you have created and feel that the stark background and the curved edge of the mirror work very well. Overall, I really like this image and congratulate you on coming up with the interesting concept and carrying it out so well. Ingrid Nov 15th
14 Nov 21 Comment Hi Tom. It looks like you had a lot of fun creating this image. I think the composition is very effective. Each of the "dress" figures seem to be glowing from within which is very interesting and conveys the ghostlike halloween atmosphere. You've done a great job of creating depth by the diminishing sizes of the figures. The color toning that you have used really pulls the composition together to give the illusion that it might be a 'real' scene. You may not think it's very scary, but I don't think I'd want to be surrounded by these glowing creatures in a dark tunnel. Thanks for sharing this, Tom. It made me smile! Ingrid Nov 15th
14 Nov 21 Comment Hi Greg. I'm a BIG fan of old barns, so I love your subject and the way you've captured the light and the impending storm clouds. The texture of the barn siding is very interesting and gives the barn its own unique character. I like the way you've processed the image and created a dramatic atmosphere. The vignette you've added is also very effective. Did you have the opportunity to shoot any closer up shots of the textures and patterns on the barn's siding? What a treasure trove of material. Too bad there wasn't a antique red truck somewhere in the frame :) Thanks for sharing this very interesting and well-processed image. Ingrid Nov 15th
14 Nov 21 Comment Hi Darcy. Amazing! - what a sight to have in your neighborhood! Your composition does an excellent job of telling the story of having landed in a very tight space. The juxtaposition of the roofs with the colorful balloon is dramatic and interesting. I agree that increasing the color intensity of the balloon would be beneficial, but I think this is a very successful and interesting image just the way it is. Thanks for sharing. Ingrid Nov 15th
14 Nov 21 Comment Hi Karen. I like the way you've framed the subject and the repetition of the wheel circles and spokes is very interesting. You were able to successfully bring out detail in the shadows, without distracting noise. I think the composition works well with the way you have cropped it, and leaving out the sky at the top was the right decision, in my opinion. I agree with Tom, that reducing the luminosity of the sky slightly may benefit the image, but overall I think that it is well done and successful. Thanks. Nov 15th
