Thanks for your positive comments. I tried bringing out a little more detail in the main structure, but I'm not sure it's an improvement. What do you think? |

Thanks for such positive comments, Tom. I suggested a stop for a better shot to my husband, but he declined, imagine that!?! |

Hi Syad. This is a very interesting image and tells an unusual story, but it is also a wonderful minimalist composition. You did a great job with the focus and the placement of the subject(s) in the frame. The shadows really add to the interest. I also love the texture of the water. Have you tried converting it to black and white? |

Hi Xiao. I love this type of image, creating a graphic composition out of colorful blooms. I agree with Darcy that the three flowers grouped together are the primary subject and the other two don't really add much. I like the square crop that she suggeested. |

This is a very graphic image with a great composition and impact. I find your lighting experimentation very interesting. I agree that it is oversaturated, but I actually like the almost neon effect that you have achieved, especially against the black background. This would be amazing printed on metal. You could then give it to you wife to prove that you cut the flower for her, both as the initial bloom, but also so that you could create longer term enjoyment for her!
PS, if my husband cut a bloom for me, I would definitely feel that it did it so that I could photograph it.... |

Greg - this is just wonderful! I love the mood, the interesting silhouettes and the composition. The glowing light created by the filters is amazing. There seems to be just a little bit of a yellow halo around the middle horse's legs, which could easily be eliminated with PShop. Overall, I really love this image! |

Hi Darcy. This is a very interesting capture of a very unusual subject. My only suggestions would be to darken the brightness on the right lower left corner and to try to see if the clarity and texture and dehaze sliders in lightroom or Camera Raw filter could bring a bit more sharpness to the ice crystals. Having worked with a macro lens, achieving sharpness of all of the crystals would still be difficult, though. I love the concept and your image title. |

Hi Karen. I like this image a lot, especially the vibrant colors and the stop action that you've achieved with the horses' feet in the dirt. It is impressive that you were able to get the three horses and riders in focus, with the background slightly blurred. Your exposure is right on and the composition with the three subjects is great. Thanks for sharing! |
