Thanks for your suggestion of a monochrome conversion, Stephen. Since it was the glow of the golden window which initially attracted me to this scene, I'd be reluctant to turn it into a black and white image. However, I did shoot this same building in the daylight and it begged to be black and white. I've attached that image for you. |

This image represents a very interesting story. I love to see aerial compositions that create this type of abstraction. I might be helpful to lighten the boat to make it clearer and help the viewer figure out what they are really seeing, so that the composition can stand on its own without your narrative. It's a very unique perspective. |

This is a very strong portrait. I especially like the way the lighting emphasizes his musculature. You have done an excellent job of eliminating the distracting blotches on the wall without losing the context of the background which gives him a sense of place. The cropping of the foreground to eliminate the extraneous greenery was also an important decision. You might consider darkening the white horizontal splotch on the wall just a bit to put more emphasis on the figure. I'd also consider lightening his eyes to draw more attention to that important part of his persona. |

This is a great capture of an amazing animal performing at its best. I like the fact that the action is stopped at a particularly interesting pose with the light on the back and tail of the horse creating drama. I think placing the horse slightly to the left of the frame is effective, providing a little extra room on the right to show that he is moving forward. Leaving the rider in shadow also places more emphasis on the graceful horse. The vignetting is also helpful. On my monitor, the mane of the horse appears a bit blown-out, so if it's possible to some texture there, it might be a sight improvement. Overall, I think this is beautiful image. |

This image immediately made me smile. The colorful fabrics around his neck really add to the happy mood and bring attention to the figure. The background, although very busy, further adds to the mood. My only suggestion is to consider darkening the very light distracting portions of the background, like the light grey part of the mannequin, the light triangle directly to left of the subject, and light stripe on the right-hand border and the over bright ground in the lower right. Overall, I think this is a very effective portrait and definitely conveys a a cheerful and colorful island experience. |

I really like the negative space surrounding the sail boat, as well as the placement of the boat in the lower left with the bow pointing diagonally towards the upper right. It puts the emphasis on the subject, but also develops the sense of the location surrounding the subject. It is a shame that there is not more detail in the boat itself, and personally, I would definitely try to recover some more detail with the shadow slider applied only to the boat. I find the water ripples in the upper right a bit eye grabbing. I would try either darkening the highest light strip, or using the skew tool to make it more horizontal to mirror the ripples below. I think the black and white treatment is Overall, I really like the mood and story behind the image |

I enjoyed this portrait and it looks like your patience paid off, because he genuinely looks cheerful. I like the way you've framed the subject with the buildings, using the sky to create a non-distracting background for his head. The leading lines are also well used. Your recovery of the sky color and cloud detail really helps. I agree with the other comments about the shadow recovery on Carter's face and neck, but lessening the contrast between the highlights on his face and neck could probably do the trick |
