3 Jul 22 Comment Your image of the flag is very gentle and refreshing in a sense of the flag usually being from a pole. The leading lines into the far end are very helpful in making it a symbol and not just a photo. I am very partial to any image of the American Flag that is done respectfully and this truly is done in that way. I would comment that in making the leading stars more in focus is a plus. The spoon gives you more to think about the history of what the flag has meant. Thank you for a very nice photo. Jul 19th
3 Jul 22 Comment Hi Mary Ann,
I have been looking at this photo on and off for a while and am amazed at the clarity and fine details of the crane. Looking at your camera settings The composition is very good as is the sky replacement. The angle at which you captured the bird excellent in that it gives the viewer a full view of the plumage and entire body of the animal in flight. Truly an excellent photo.

3 Jul 22 Reply Hi Mary Ann,
I can appreciate your preference as the best way to make the buildings stand out. But, I am a "color junkie" when it comes to sky's. HaHa. Photoshop is not a program that I have used in at least 7 years. My editor of preference is Luminar of which I have two versions. They have a perspective tool in the program . I also use some of the other older editors such as Photoscape. In the future Photoshop may be something for me to try again as I heard it is much easier to use now Thank you for your review and comments.

3 Jul 22 Reply Hi,
I am what you call a "color junkie". I love bright colors and the blue sky in photos. I do get a little carried away at times. In this photo, I was competing between making the sky bluer and making the buildings brighter. I was just standing on the roof of the hotel and the buildings lines and juxtaposition jumped into my head.

3 Jul 22 Comment Hi John,
A very peculiar but interesting photo. In street photography catching the photo is what counts and you did.
I think you live in the perfect local to get some really different street photos. I've been to California several times and let's just say it's a very interesting place to people-watch. The tree doesn't distract me as much as the green bush to the right of his head. I took the liberty of doing some erasing and defocusing the background to get that tree out of the way and make him the main subject.. Also ran it through Topaz DiNoise AI.

3 Jul 22 Reply Hi Ruth,
Thank you for your review and comments. The bold colors in the buildings were what I was aiming to produce together with the juxtaposition of the buildings. Not the most exciting photo but a pleasant eye-catching scene.

3 Jul 22 Reply HI LuAnn,
Yes the straightening looks a little better. I'm beginning to think it's the city that is crooked not my photo.
I'll fool around with that sky to see if I can make it better, but may have a problem with being able to post if I can't get the size down. Yes, overexposure to the clouds is a common problem I run into. My camera has settings to reveal overexposed spots on the photos. I purchased DiNoise and Topaz Sharpen AI after looking at some other group members photos this month. Thanks again for the review.

3 Jul 22 Comment Hi LuAnn, I like Michael had to research the Lensbaby lenses, having never heard of them. They appear to be very special and expensive lenses. The lens gave the photo a softness, but your editing is what pulled the photo from an ordinary one to an esoteric thing of beauty. I believe you have accomplished your goal and then some. It's not my "cup of tea" but it's beautiful. Thanks for the pleasure of viewing it. Jul 3rd
3 Jul 22 Comment Michael, My experience with shooting birds requires three things, Patience, Time, and a large Memory Card. As you said out of a hundred you might get a couple of good photos. You captured the bird at the perfect moment with its eyes at you which are the best shots. The tree adds to the photo as opposed to just a bird in flight. I have to say that Topaz DiNoise AI and Gigapixel did a great job with the original. So much that I just bought Topaz DiNoise AI. Thank you for the lovely photo. Jul 3rd
3 Jul 22 Reply Michael,
Thank you for your review and comments. Your point about the sky taking away from the buildings is very valid. Another thing that made me nuts was not being able to get the buildings to appear straight, although the building on the left is perfectly aligned. I think it's lens distortion. It was not a Nikon lens on the camera.

3 Jul 22 Comment Ruth, a very engaging photo with nature. The B&W choice I believe was excellent. It does beg the question to the viewer of who, what, where, and when. The scene in the distance gives it that look of some strong emotional impact. The only thing I might try would be to walk without shoes or just socks to give it a more human touch. I'll have to try this down the shore this summer. Wonderful photo. Tell your husband we said thanks. Jul 3rd

3 Jul 22 Comment The file i had to submit for posting was not the original photo I wanted to post, but because I could not get it below 1 meg limit I sent it in until I could get it corrected to size.
The attached photo is more as was the original.

88 Jul 22 Comment Hi Rich,
Great photo of an iconic place in America. Having seen this in person and in so many pictures I often wondered why CA didn't fix the side of the hill to make it look greener.
Sorry, but I couldn't resist. But I waited until the end of the month.
