3 Jun 22 Comment Hi Mike,
I finally got around to looking at your beautiful photo. I like the clouds/coloring and atmosphere it gives the overall scene. A very peaceful and serene setting. The composition is very good, except I would try to straighten to bring the left side down a wee bit to make it look even. You might also try to erase the people and poles at the end of the photo to give it a cleaner look. The poles from the sail boats give the photo some framing. A wonderful photo. The most important thing is that YOU like the photo.

Having done several lighthouses over the years this is the first time anyone ever mentioned putting a light on. From now on they will all have "lights one". It gives a static image life.

thank you for your review and perspective Your suggestion to light up the lighthouse is excellent. I prefer to keep all the palms in the photo to give it more framing.

3 Jun 22 Comment Hi Mary Ann
Thank you for your kind words and insight into the weather in Florida. When I took the photo was just after a storm and the sky had originally looked more like my first edit. People were all over the place gathering up sea shells. I did post that photo in haste because of other matters and paid the price.

3 Jun 22 Comment Hi John,
Very interesting, I like the color, configuration of lines, and intersecting of the cords. It's a shame there were not more cords crossing as a busy operator might find it. Back in the 60's the Army field phone systems had this type of board. Very nice photo.

3 Jun 22 Comment Hi John,
All things considered, this was the best position to take a photo at the time. Other locations didn't offer a clearer photo. Plus I believe the palms give it a bit more depth. I'm very big on putting something in the foreground.

3 Jun 22 Comment Hi LuAnn,
In looking at the two images I see two different types of photos. The original is very calm and serene overall because of the softer lighting. He is just going along. The edited photo to me is stronger and more dynamic with the person seeming to have a direct purpose in his direction, caused by the lighting on the paddle and the front of the canoe. I would have liked to see more space to the right in the photo since he is going in that direction. The rock in the water is a plus in my opinion adding to the overall scene. The trees to me are not necessary for the photo. It is truly a beautiful photo.

3 Jun 22 Comment Hi Kieu-Hanh,
This type of photo has a special meaning for me having been in the military and that my father was in WWII and died from his wounds when I was five. I think you captured the moment of the pose of the Marine. I was also very happy that you did not show the name on the tombstone. Your lighting is good. I might have shot a little more to the right of the tombstone and figure, but your angle is very good. I was able to remove the tombstone to the rear of the marine, which I think helps the overall photo.

3 Jun 22 Reply HI LuAnn,
I just wanted to make some slight corrections to the image, seeing as how I was not paying proper attention when I did the original editing and put up an image I am not real proud of, to say the least. There is an old saying, "proper prior planning prevents poor performance. The six "P's". So here is the new editing of the image. Not especially good but better.
The enemy of good is better.
