Wow! I hope you took this with a long lens! Great to capture the moment. Not a lot of time to worry about composition, etc. Just get the photo and get outa of there.

Georges,
This is a gorgeous photo and I would not change a thing.
It shows the true beauty of nature. In looking at the flower you can see why the males are attracted to the female as we are distracted to her as well in viewing the photo. |

Roaming through the digital reams of photos and stopped when I came to this one. I jammed on the brakes and said WOW!
First of all, I love the color mixture you captured. You kept the foreground desert and went into the deep sky color. The desert foreground really is smart against this crimson sky. Personally, I think you nailed it. I love bold, bright, and colorful scenic photos of great places and this is one. A little lens flare, but still a wonderful photo.
Thanks for a very nice photo to enjoy.

Hi Peter,
I compliment you on a very good photo with beautiful colors and good composition. The lights only show me that you were willing to get up very early in the morning to get a good photo. Thanks for the wonderful photo. |

Dick,
I believe I found the pony. I've attached a copy outlining my visualization. You did a great job hiding it. Very nice photo. |

Hi Ruth
Found your photo during my roaming of the photos.
Very interesting composition, especially the colors of the various subjects. The red shoes have got to be the center of attention. The photo makes you ask the quesion "what the heck is going on".
PS. I bet you the lady with the red shoes name is
"Dorothy".
Wonderful photo

Hello Bev
Thank you for your kind words. Every time I look at the pictures of Yosemite I yearn to go back. But, there are so many great places I have yet to visit that I might not get back. Time is not on my side. |

Hi Trey
The trees were almost black and I liked it better when you could get a sense of the entire area. I guess having been there and knowing that the trees weren't dark sort of affected my decision. So when I look at the photo my eyes go initially to the mountain then as you look further your eyes drop the remainder of the scene. |

Hi Louis,
I have edited the photo and darkened the trees in the front center and another bright spot on the left upper area. Also added some slight darkening to the mountain itself trying to give it some better dimensions. Also darkened some of the trees on top of the mountain. Thank you for the critique. |

I looked at the Elliott Erwitt photos and they are absolutely terrific. I must admit that his work was never brought to my attention. Thank you much for a most enjoyable journey into his work. |

Hi Trey,
Your photo has a certain bit of mystical sense to it. And makes you wonder what is in the fog. Your efforts to make the scene have those qualities are very good. I hope you will understand, but I would have to remove that dead branch from the photo. It's just a personal thing. Very nice photograph. Now I'm going to go watch one of my Sherlock Holmes movies which I love. They have a lot of fog. |

Hi Charles,
To mention my name in the same sentence with Ansel Adams is more than a person like me deserves, but I am honored.
My wife has noticed that none of my hats fit my head
since reading your review. I told her it would shrink again next month with my next photo reviews. |

I find the overall composition of the picture a very good representation of the country farming environment of this area of the world. The patterns of the photo draw your eye to fields and are complemented by the farmers shown working, which gives it a very human aspect. Some cropping might enhance the main subject of the photo. |

Hi Louis
You have created a very smooth, calm, and pleasing to the eye photograph. Your color arrangement is strong but very soothing and invites you to look at it and you decide what it says instead of the photo telling you. I love the waving lines gently going thru the photo. In ways, it is more of a painting than a photo. Very nice work.
Thank you for the opportunity to review it. |

I just noticed that in my edit photo a lot of the brightness on the monument has been lost. So much for my editing of other peoples photos. |

Hi Rich,
I would say you have captured your intent with the smooth-rolling and intermingle of the hills. When I stare at the photo I envision beautiful women. NFI in that regard. Even the sky is set to not take away from the hills. You have captured the moment. I'm glad to see a fellow Luminar user.
I started with Lum 4 and now use Luminar AI. If you wanted you probably could have made those evergreens darker with Luminar.
I would have left it as you did. Thanks for letting me review your photo. PS. I'm trying to some how get to Yosemite this year. I understand there are not a lot of people out there yet.

HI Quang,
I don't know how in the world you got this shot. The framing of the fireworks, statue and Washington Monument is truly an accomplishment. Then you captured the perfect moment for the fireworks. I've taken your photo and darkened the lights on the lower-left area. As my daughter lives in DC only several blocks from the White House I will be there next year for the 4th of July attempting to capture this moment. Thank you for the photo and the incentive. My father-in-law was at Iwo Jima with the Navy on one of the assault ships. He never spoke of it. We found out by accident after he died. |

Hi Charles,
I'm looking at your photo and find it to be interesting not only visually but also in the context of the political and social implications. Your choice of this painting is excellent. The painting draws your attention immediately and then you can examine its surroundings and then realize the person is taking someplace for some reason. The photo gives the scene an added dimension of its own. You did a great job of deleting other things. Thank you for a very interesting and entertaining photo. |

Hi Robert,
Just to let you know this is a very, very good photograph. Not that I'm any kind of expert, but at my age, I know what I like and this looks great. Let alone you have a great memory of a place most people never get to visit. I'm also an old Nikon F2 photographer from the sixties. I kind of miss the film "sometimes" but the digital was the best thing that ever happened by permitting people of all worlds to enter into photography. Keep on keepin on! |

Hi,
Having been to Calgary in 2019 I can appreciate your photo in a large way. I live in the USA, Pennsylvania. Calgary is a great city to say the least. I took many photos when there but none compare to your capture of this great skyline. I must say that I actually like your first photo without the clouds. It is so clean and presents you with a great impression of the city. Thanks for letting me enjoy and remember a great visit to your city and country. |
