We've been to Taos but don't remember seeing this mission church. You did a really good job of creating the starkness of the building -no embellishments at all. The base is so solid and bulbous and then the top corner shows a much lighter part with the tower and cross. Good quality of tones as well. I don't know the Ansel Adam's photo so I came to this one with no preconceived ideas. |

I understand your thinking to project abandonment but in terms of picture, I prefer the Wintry one produced by Ed, although I would have removed the tree on the left as you did. You need to have the fence in whichever one you go for. They both shout loneliness. |

This has worked really well -the symmetrical design is great. I might have cropped more at the bottom because I don't like the two bits at the corners-they would be easily cloned out. The grass has just caught the light so it sparkles. Lovely! |

I think I like the tilt reduced as in Tom's image. I'm not sure I like pictures of pylons although they are a feature of all landscapes worldwide. However, you've made a good image with this one with the sun directly behind it. Well done! |
