I think I like it with the truck, which to my eyes looks so American -huge! It does rather fill the image from side to side but it is important to the storytelling. |

I use a PC and there should be enough memory. I paid enough for the system! It says it has inactivated the GPU - so I can carry on using Ps but without some of the functions. I'll talk to my computer son about memory -again!

Thanks. Since doing this one I have been watching a video which shows me how to balance light levels and then colour balance when doing montages. Now I know what I should do to get it right! |

Very annoying that you couldn't separate the fourth person from the child behind.
My only suggestion is to remove the two 'chimneys'(??) from near the boy's knees. Once I'd seen them, they irritated me.
This works with the sunset behind.
It also works as a colour image -very striking! |

Interesting new filters in Nik. I'm not upgrading since I've found out how to do masks in Lr. I think the choices you made for the two different areas were right. I like dark skies like this but it would have made the building too contrasty. Initially I thought this might have been an infra red conversion although the foliage would have been much paler. Would it work in IR? |

This is such a weird looking tap! Actually I prefer the colour version as the golden tap stands out against the background whereas in the mono, the greys are much the same tone. I think that may be because the background has sun on it making it lighter.
I didn't notice the water to start with, especially in the mono.
The crop is probably the only possible one as you are at an angle to the tap. The only other possibility would be to show more of the surroundings but then the tap would lose its importance. |

The tiger is beautiful! The bricks are a real nuisance just there. However I feel there is a 'space' now where they used to be - the area in the background has gone a bit too pale and lacking in any texture. Could you have copied some of the forest to the left and right of the bricks over them and then converted to mono. That would have provided a sense of the habitat behind him.
I also felt his lower jaw could be lightened a fraction. When you say animal portraits don't do well, I think that is only true in Europe. I think they do well in the USA.
He looks to be in fine condition. How many tigers are in that area? Did you get any idea of how old he was? Tigers are solitary unless a Mother is still caring for her cubs. Were you lucky enough to see a family group?

As the others have said, the removal has worked well. I'm glad the remove tool works for you. Whenever I've tried it, for some reason it makes Ps stop working properly. I am unable to access RAW and I have to close everything down and start again. I can't find out why! Hence I don't use it. I use cloning etc. Any ideas on what is happening?
This is interesting as we don't have such huge silos in GB.
I can't see the lean that Steve commented on but he often notices slight problems which I've missed. This makes a better mono than a colour image, though I might crop the top grubby looking area, which would help to keep your eyes down towards the truck.
Good one.

Oh yes there are lads of people around who spend all their time restoring old buildings or old machinery. Not my scene but I'm very happy to take pictures of their efforts. |

Yes I missed that. Not sure whether to move or make smaller. I quite liked the imposing look. It might not do well here in GB, because so many people who are better at montage than me used to do these all the time so people see them as an out of date genre. It always takes me a while to work out how to do the new look! |
