I like Jennifer's change to the background. Sometimes when we change things and work on them for ages, we think we've done enough and then someone else comes fresh to it and carries on the same idea and it looks so much better. I still find the dark blobs to the left a bit distracting as there are lighter bits to their left, but I prefer the increased fuzziness of the rest. The giraffe's head and neck stand out better. |

Thanks you. We decided that our ability to produce a magnificent and fitting end for her is beyond compare. We sat entranced all day in front of the TV, completely bemused by the numbers who queued for hours, knowing we could never have done so, but approving of their resilience and patience. As has been said, when anyone said The Queen, everyone knew that meant ours. There is no-one else like her and not likely to be in the future. Her calm presence will be missed. |

I think I agree with Jennifer that the background needs the darkening especially the white line above his trunk. I love the texture of the hide and it works very well with the back lighting which shows up the whiskers. With this close view point, I am happy with the tight crop, because the edge is rim lit. |

Thanks to everyone who came up with ideas-it meant I didn't have to! I did feel there was too much of a burnt out bit on the door itself and her I'm going out on a line-I prefer the colour to the mono anyway. That golden glow is beautiful! |

I think Jennifer means on the right -I noticed the white tree right on the edge and it is easily cloned out or cropped. I found the whole image a bit grey allover and I wondered if it could do with a bit more contrast to exaggerate the night sky. I also thought the large tree on the right was a bit too light because it is to the right of the dark conifer so pulls the eye out of the frame. The perspective didn't bother me though Steve's slight tweaks do help. |

I agree that all it needs is increased contrast on the building and the sky replacement is the other answer. I think wispy cirrus are good as anything else would detract from the building, which is very classical. |

Yes it is a rucksack and could easily be darkened. The consensus seems to be that sepia is wrong so I'll leave it in b&w. |

The only tweaking I did was to darken the sky slightly by burning in and lighten the eyes of the guy on the left because his eyes were in deep shadow.
I'd still like to do a sepia to see whether it works but the computer is still playing up. |
