I like the colour version too because it has a warmth, but clearly the sky needs a lot of help, so I stick by my suggestions of adding a different sky. |

I hadn't noticed the brown patch and subsequent lighter area and I agree it needs darkening. I have sent in this mono one for a PT comp yesterday and I did darken the sky quite a lot to give more impact. Our son came round recently and helped get my monitor better. Things looked good on it but then looked wishywashy when projected, so I'm hoping it is right now. |

My daughter took up wall and now rock climbing as an adult and it frightens me silly when she goes away on climbing trips. This is always hard to take when it's in bright sunlight. Janice is right -the shoe needs toning down a little and as Stephen says , her face could do with brightening up. I think I prefer the colour version because the shadows have gone so dark in the mono. I'm sure the child likes it as it makes her look very high up and actively climbing so you should have a satisfied customer there. Not only has my daughter taken to scaling rock faces but she lives in Amsterdam which is very very flat! |

Yes, a good shot suitable for PJ and also for PT because as everyone says it looks as if it was taken in an exotic location. I think you need to lighten the guy's face as the jacket is much brighter than his face so takes the eye away. I would also crop the left side so the curve of the basket is removed. Darken the plate on the left side because again it is too light relative to the face. This really just needs little tweaks to improve it and make it a super shot. |

As Janice says , there is a good leading line from the front up the lighthouse, but I found the overall brightness a bit too much. The sepia only gave a hint of colour in the sky so the image didn't really look as if it was properly mono. The sky is very noisy as you said. Did you try dehaze or was that dreadful? perhaps the answer is to ditch this background and insert a much more dramatic sky but keep the lighthouse bright so it looks as if it is in sunlight. probably altogether too much time consuming work, but it might be good. |

I agree with Stephen that the original mono with the single small balloon works the best. Just the mountains on their own don't have a focal point so the eye doesn't know where to settle. The 3 coloured balloons didn't look as if they belonged when the background was mono either. The image is rather noisy and is probably due to the phone. I think the very bright patch on the left -the cloud on the frame edge- needs to be darkened a bit because of its position. I'm interested to now where you found such a landscape as I went to Albuqueque and never saw such beautiful scenery behind the balloons. My pictures ended up being a bit boring as they were all close ups of brightly coloured balloons. |
