I think this is a superb shot. I was interested in your method of replacing detail in the lower left corner -something I'd never thought of. I'm a fan of slow shutter speed to create a sense of flow and this is perfect. |

You know I don't like planes but when all is said and done, this is one of your good shots. I also noticed the lady! She is in the brightest area of the shot. |

So am I. I hate people who print to a standard size because then they usually have too much of something-foreground or sky etc. Cropping is essential in my book. |

Thanks. I think you did really well. All that fog is good and it's easily cloned onto the bright sky area as well. Taking the fence out was good too. |

I thought the overall tone was a bit grey so needed some greater difference between the blacks and whites. I put it into Nik and used 'full dynamic range' which I think brings out the grittiness and separates the twirly bits on the right from the backwall. I do like this sort of minimalist image and would have been taking it myself. What do you think? |

The story here is amazing. I'm afraid I don't remember any of them though I probably heard about them at the time. The inclusion of the plane is essential. I wanted some more detail to show in the underbridge construction, especially on the left hand one. Did you try full structure in Nik to see what a difference it makes?
The only problem here is that a halo has appeared but this could be due to the fact I was working on a small image. |

Could we see the original with the grain on it. I am amazed at how good this image is considering the high ISO. If I took a shot at this level it would be so grainy as to be unusable even with grain reducing software. What did you use to reduce the grain? I like the shot because it actually looks as if it is 'real fog! I accept it is but could have been produced in the real world. I'm not sure you need so much of the foliage on the left hand side although it does put the figure in a good position within the frame. I tried cropping the denser area off the left and thought it made a better pictorial shot with her still offcentre. |
