I think maybe your crop to create a vertical is too severe for me. But then I definitely need new glasses -I'm probably having my cataract dealt with in the New Year! I actually liked the lead-in that the axle provided. But I will try the suggestions of adding grit. |

I don't think the sense of place is important when the author is going for pure pictorialism and not Nature. I like the way Carol's makes it stand out more. |

I found the wheel to be more dominant than the face, so I wondered whether you could lighten the face a bit, especially the eyes which are getting lost in the cap's shadow. I also found the pointed details below his arm quite eye catching, but I suppose someone interested in cars might be over the moon at seeing them and working out what car it was. It does tell a story about boys and their toys! There's a good triangle of things to look at -the face, the wheel and the upholstery which keeps your eye moving around the image. |

I think the patience is the important word here. I hadn't coupled the layers together when I've done transform, distort or skew. I find them better than perspective usually. |

That is so clever. I've just done a sequence on weather and could have used a couple more snowing ones -I did have some real snow ones but more would have been good. I usually take my snow pictures after the snowfall when the sun is shining. You've done a great job though the stars sometimes show too much when you could use this for PID comps and pretend it was real. |

A good rendering of this image -good tones. I like the crop -such a pity the top man was moving out of the picture but there's nothing you can do with him. This would fit PJ and PT competitions. This is also why the rivers have superbugs nowadays and why so many people have diarrhoea and sickness as well. I must admit I appreciate clean water to drink and wash as well as electricity and gas for cooking and heating. We live in a comfortable, warm house where we don't have to worry about adverse weather conditions, or flooding or rioting people or warfare. We are indeed lucky. |

I agree with Carol again. The whole image needs much greater contrast to give impact. I do like the version Carol produced. I like the crop -with the emphasis on the dying flower -all droopy and with interesting spikes. The background must be made much darker to make them stand out. |

The colour is better for Nature I think. I agree with Carol that the background should go darker if you use it in PID. At the moment it just looks grey and detracts from the egret. Going black makes the bird stand out much better. Not sure whether the ray of light is quite right but I can see why Carol put one it. Yes, you need to work on this one. |

I agree that the second version is better without any apparent distortion. I'd also like to know which process you used to correct it without losing part of the image. It's goot good tones throughout and might do well in competitions though architectural shots don't always succeed unless there is a very specific section for A&R. |
