i am also visiting from group 32 having seen Stephen's comments. I think it is a very good mono image and much better in mono. I shall come and visit again now I know you are a mono group if you don't mind. |

Another super shot! I shall have to go into Liverpool sometime. Could you darken the trousers on the right back? The rest is fine and as you say, the small child makes this picture. |

Wow! You've gone even more dramatic than . I like your curves addition and will do the same before entering again. I did wonder about the foreground amount showing. |

Yes! The sky makes all the difference. Puff of dust is also a good idea but I think it needs to be a bit bigger still. |

Since you have already cloned stuff out, then you are not using this for Pj, so why not add a different sky as I don't like the blandness of the grey sky behind her. You could introduce a bit more drama with a better sky. Horses know which way to go by the transfer of weight of the rider and where they are looking. We have a riding lesson once a week having taken up riding when we retired. I've learnt a lot but still can't do what the American western riders do -stay in the saddle when they are galloping across the Plains. I know they had a different saddle but even so, it's jolly hard! back to your picture -it's great that you got all 4 feet included and that the horse looks as if it is moving. Good detail in the black areas but could you lighten her face a bit so the shadow is not as much under her helmet. Girls always love horses in their teens though I didn't as we never came in contact and it would have been much too expensive! |

I like the mono the best. I'm not sure about the colour ones. The one labelled colour 2 seems over-saturated to me especially in the sky although the boat actually looks a bit washed out. i prefer the second colour one, labelled 3 because the sky is better though the boat is still odd. i think the lightness on the boat converts well to the mono so you get the best of both worlds. The sky looks as if it is raining there behind the house with the sun just picking out the boat. You have created a sense of depth in the picture very well. I'm not usually a fan of odd boredrs but this one works very well here. |

This is a good Photojournalism shot because the man is unaware of the camera. Perhaps it's not so bad to be sleeping in shop doorways when the climate is warm, but when we see people in GB doing it, then it's awful. Not only is it cold and wet here for much of the time, but it's dreadful that we have poverty and homelessness in our Western society. Not hat there should be so many disadvantaged people anywhere in the world. You've got good detail on the light clothing and yet retained some detail in his skin. I would try darkening the very light areas on the doorstep which pull the eye away from the man. I liked the way you included the padlock above his head. |

I have tried lightening the foreground in places -leaving the bottom edge and some at the sides darker -and I've entered it in an International so we'll see whether the judges like it |

I am always impressed when you say you have scanned your images from old ones because when I tried it, I ended up with very dirty images with huge grain. It must have been problems with my negative processing initially. This image is so well done. The angle of view is interesting as it gives a real sense of depth and space and the tiles provide a great set of leading lines. The contrast range is good overall and I like the mono conversion. |

I thought that might be the criticism most of you would have. |
